Hopefully I put this post in the right spot. We are thinking of booking a late summer trip to Disney. Most likely the first week of August or the last week of July. I have contacted a TA but never heard back. I tried another company and the price was awfully high with a note stating there weren't any discounts available.

But I just got my mousesavers letter and it looks like there are 4 different types of packages? Preschool package, ticketless with dining, summer package, and magic together package.

So I am 100% confused. We would like to add dining..I would have to price it but we have found in the past that we always wished we added dining so we don't have to worry about it. When we have stayed onsite, we never had dining and always regretted it because we never went to any of the restaurants because they were so expensive oop. We have 5 and my 3 kids are dying to go to some of the Disney restaurants. The past few times we have went , we stayed offsite.

But these packages are intriguing to me, especially since it seems the ticketless one allows me to get a discounted room and add dining. But maybe I am completely wrong.

Thank you guys so much..

There is definitely availability. Just need to price each one to see which is best for your family! The summer discount is a good one.
Sorry a TA didn't help you. There's still a lot of us TA's out there, that would love to work with you!

If you contacted a TA and didn't hear back, chances are good something went wrong with the email; it went to spam or got lost in the ether. TAs are very good about returning contacts (or they don't last long as TAs). You might want to try again, maybe from a different email address.

Making sense out of the current mishmash of packages is exactly what TAs are very good at. :-)

As to the packages, yes, you can get a discounted room and add the dining plan with no tickets. The various other packages ("preschool," "magic together," etc.) seem to be just repackaging the room discount slightly differently. I've seen them have different availability, but I have not yet seen one have a better overall price, once you add the same ticket and dining options. But there's always a chance they might have a better rate, so you have to check them. Disney isn't making life easy for people trying to find the best deal.

I had a very helpful TA run a lot of the different package variations - so just try another TA. Also, on the dining package - we love it but have always gone during FD. We like the flexibility and not having to worry about what anyone orders. One option to look at would be if the package that seems to be the best deal won't allow you to add on the dining package you could always "pre-pay" your own dining plan by buying Disney Gift cards in advance and use those to pay for your dining. It isn't exactly the same but a close second.
