OK so I have velour WHITE dress with thin grey & red alternating stripes. With an ORANGE marker spot. And yes this is new. Spot very tiny, size of the thin markers, has been through cold water wash and have used detergent with toothbrush directly on spot. Has faded but still there and I need help. Right now I have it soaking in the sink in cold water with dish soap and Melaeuca tea tree oil.
Any thoughts?
Other than dont allow DH to dress DD? Or do not allow markers with a WHITE dress?

Not sure about markers but hair spray usually gets ink stains out. Saturate it with hair spray, wait just a few minutes and then wash. Good luck.

I've had alot of luck with goo gone.. worlks great!!

I LOVE the Clorox bleach pen. The TIDE stick is pretty awesome too. You really have to be persistent with the TIDE stick, it can take awhile to work. It took bright green icing that had been transfered from my DDs hands to my pink and white fabric purse. I even found a bit of the icing on the purse a few days later, and it still came out with the help of the TIDE stick!

If the hairspray doesn't work try Hydrogen Peroxide.
I used that once on blood on white carpet. it worked great

Try the bleach pen or I have seen Windex take out alot of stuff I did not think had a chance.

I would try Spray and Wash Dual Power. It got red wine out of my brand new cream colored cellular shade and red punch out of my DGD new white dress.

Thanks to all!
I have put it on hold as I am suffering the third day of a migraine and today started Gymbucks redemption, so now that adds to my headache. I think I am having such trouble since it is on velour? I dont know, my DH tried to use LIGHTER FLUID! :scared1: I was predicting it to burn a hole right through, but it didnt. (He has used it to remove mirrior glue from carpet, so now he thinks it is like windex just like the dad in Big Fat Greek Wedding, he has been advised to stay away from Asher as she tends to always have marker-washable- on her hands.) By the way where were those washable markers when she was in this dress? Anywho, thanks to all for your help and ideas, I will be working on it again soon.

I have had excellent results with Oxyclean. I would mix a bit of the powder with water, making a paste and rub the paste directly on the stain. Let it sit for a few hours and then wash it. It takes all kinds of stains out of my daughter's play clothes.

I would think it might have been an alcohol-based marker. If it was, simply saturate the area with isopropyl alchohol to re-wet the pigments and wash...

I use Fels Naptha soap on stubborn stains and have had good results. Wet the fabric, wet the bar of Fels Naptha soap and rub vigoriously over the stain. My aunt suggested it to my mom years ago to remove grease stains from linen tableclothes. I have used this method to get rid of stains that weren't touched by other commercial spot and stain removers. Fels Naptha is generally available in the laundry aisle of most super markets. Good luck and I hope that whatever you try works to remove the stain.

I second this! My great aunt told me aboput it and I have been successful everytime! I would be careful with the bleach pens if your spot is close to the stripes on the dress. Good Luck! :earsboy:
