Seattle has alot of homeless. I think like Boston attracts hoemless becuase of benefits they give also none you have legalized pot. I think I would haven taken a cab or ask the hotel to shuttle me.
I heard a radio commercial yesterday that was advertising special rates at the Fairmont hotels in Seattle and Vancouver. They're usually pretty spendy, but if you can get a good deal at the Fairmont Olympic in Seattle, the location is hard to beat and it's absolutely gorgeous. Might be worth checking into.
Lots of good suggestions here. May I ask another somewhat related question?
We're going to be in Seattle for 3-nights in June before a RCL Alaska cruise. My wife and I are wine lovers and I understand that there are a lot of wineries within an hour of Seattle. One of our favorites is Chateau Ste. Michelle, in Woodinville. I also understand that there are several other wineries in that area.
So, with that background, does anybody have a suggestion for getting there and back? I'd rent a car but wouldn't want to risk driving back after doing a lot of tastings. Are there any tour companies that offer wine country tours? There will likely be 5 of us if that matters.
I don't have personal experience, but I think shuttle express operates a tour that takes you there/back and includes a bunch of tastings. Once you're in Woodinville, everything is fairly close together.
We stayed at the Warwick a few years back - it was easy walking distance to Pacific Science Center/Experience Music Project, the Space Needle and Pike Place Market.
We are going on a Disney Cruise to Alaska this July. We are flying into Seattle a few days early to see the city. We will need a hotel for 3 nights. Then, we will get up early to take the Amtrak Cascades to Vancouver. I would like to stay in a hotel convenient to sightseeing Seattle or to transportation, but also make it easy on us to get to the Amtrak station with no issues. Do you have any suggestions? (Also, there will be 6 of us, so some sort of suites or room that will sleep 6 would be great)!
We loved Inn at the Market -- but you have to look for deals otherwise it is pricey. We also stayed four nights at the Silver Cloud on the lake and they have a free shuttle into the city all day long. That was a great hotel with a free breakfast included!
Yes. Uber for all cab-like transportation. They're great.
No, Silver Cloud is a bit south of there. You'll be fine either way. I'm sorry to have caused undue alarm. Both are fine, but if I personally had to choose, having lived here for a while, I'd pick SC.
Now let's get to the REAL important topic ... FOOD!
It has been a few months since this thread was up--but I wanted to see if we could talk about food in downtown Seattle (hotel is booked, so next most important is FOOD!!!!). Any suggestions for lunch and dinner places to go to over a 2 day period in downtown/stadium area? I am trying to plan out what to do and what to eat....
