Need help with a problem

I just called to book my summer trip with the entire family. I have been saving my points so I could take the whole family this trip, dad, my brother and SIL and their two kids, my son and friend.
I called to make the ressies and the time is available. I borrowed 5 points in Feb so I knew I had only 165 points left. The ressie will need 170 so I would borrow another 5 from next year. No problem.
Well I made the call and was told I only had 85 points. They told me that I borrowed 5 points from this year in Feb, but then I called in April and borrowed 40 points. I called the same day and borrowed another 40. And then I had 30 points from last year that I lost in August.
I explained that I didn't borrow those 80 points and why would I let 30 points expire and borrow from this year.
The CM told me he would re-instate the 30 points but they would have to be used by July of this year. they can't use those 30 for this trip in May but will borrow the points from my 2004 year.
I won't be going again in July since I am going to be there the last week of May. I did ask for a print out of the transactions to be sent to me and will call and try to clear this up, but I don't think it will make any difference. Any ideas? Peggie

Sounds like you really need to have a look at the printout of the points transactions and go from there. I just did the same thing a few days ago because I was trying to figure out a discrepency that we had and realized I had forgotten about a small one night trip we had taken. Get the pts allocation statement and make sure what they have is what you know it to be and if there is a discrepencey go back to MS with it. Best of luck, hope everything gets cleared up for you and works out the way you need it too.

How long have you been a member? How many contracts do you have?

If you have been a member for more than a couple years and if you have more than one contract, the point usage sheet is not going to be of any help. These are the most indecipherable things that I have ever seen. We had a wild problem that actually was unable to be resolved until their computer cought up and credited me 270 points....what is worse is that they can't understand these sheets either.

Hopefully you just joined, bought directly from disney and this is your only contract.

If you bought a resale, you point usage sheet may actually written in Greek.

I'd get the print out because it may help you even if they are somewhat confusing. Did you make a reservation they could have confused which points? Does any one else have access to your account? It's also possible they made a mistake and used your points for someone else though not very likely. If it's their mistake they'll fix it.

OMG, I had to get one of those printouts once - my figures were off by 10 points (I'd forgotten to deduct for an extra night we stayed). We have the main contract and 3 add-ons. I hope you have all your ressie numbers, banking numbers and cancellation numbers handy to compare to the printouts. It took me hours to reconcile, and we don't change ressies very often.

Good luck! But if the error IS made by MS, they will correct it.

This is my 2nd year with the DVC. I purchased directly through Disney. I only have 170 pts in WL. I don't stay on site with my points much so it should be really easy to figure out. I stayed once at WL and last July at BCV.
No one else has access to my account. I have purchased points from other DVC members and booked in my name but they did the booking and sent the paperwork to me after I mailed the check. They didn't have my membership number so it couldn't have been someone else that borrowed the 80 points in one day.
and what really gets me is why would I borrow when I had 30 points in the account? I can't understand that at all. Peggie

Then call and go over it with them by phone or email them. I bet you can get it straightened out that way. And let us know what happens.

Once I cancelled a reservation, but for some reason the DVC "computer" did not deduct all my points correctly! I was nearly in tears as the CM was telling me I had less points than I knew I did! Luckily I did not give up and accept her figure and after 45 min of going back and forth and on hold forever, she saw the mistake and it did have to be corrected "manually" she said. I called back the next day to verify and the points were all back. But boy......talk about heart failure! Luckily I was a nearly new member and did not have to much history to review!
