Hello everyone,

Our group of 1/25 cruisers would like to do a DIS meeting on board. We thought we might meet at the "secret" deck 7 area, but aren't sure what time would work well with everything else that is going on.

So, if you've been to a DIS meet onboard (or just know the schedule from previous cruising) can you suggest a time that would be appropriate? Would 4ish be OK, where we could go directly to the sailaway party afterward, or does anyone have a suggestion for a different time?

Would love to hear what has worked for others!

We're gonna be on your cruise! On our 9/27/01 cruise, we just sorta met up at the ESPN club anytime between the lifeboat drill, and the first seating. It seemed to work out pretty well. People just kinda floated in, and out. One thing that helped was the lime-green ribbon thing. We met a few people while waiting to board. We never went to the deck 7 veranda, but it's kinda out of the way, and might not be a good place for others to just "stop by."

Just my two cents worth.

It's hard to get everyone together for a sail-away party because different family members (i.e. the ones who weren't doing the posting on the DIS boards) have different priorities. They'll want to be at the bow watching the forward progress or they'll want to be on the dance floor with the Disney characters, etc. I suggest that in addition to a sail-away party, have another get-together at a quiet time on a sea day. You could meet in the Promenade Lounge or at Sessions. Sometimes DIS groups will reserve the big room for a Palo brunch. Definitely do something in addition to the traditional sailaway party.

Now we were a smaller group but it worked great. We met prior to the sail away I think it was like 3:15 by the bar near the goofy pool. It was great meeting everyone and funny how small the ship was once you knew them. I must have run into someone at least twice a day :)

On our 1/4 cruise last week we all met at the Promenade Lounge right after the life boat drill and before the sailaway. It worked out great. I made name tags for all the Dis'ers and Barb was gracious enough to bring some yummy goodies to share. We had about 50 Disers and their families attended. It was great meeting everyone!!!! We saw familiar faces all week long!! Barb and Tony took a group photo and will post soon, I am sure!!!
