Hello! I am staying at the Disney Port Orleans Riverside from midday February 8th, 2015 to Late Afternoonish on February 13th, 2015.

I want to utilize the EMH that we get for staying on resort, but i'M not sure how to get to each park via buses/monorail/boats, and also which way is the quickest.

Here is my itinerary:
Feb 8th: animal kingdom at somewhere between 12pm-3pm arrival. (emh at mk, probably be there for the wishes spectacular and then stay til 2am-no problem here timewise)

Feb 9th:Disney Hollywood studios all day (emh til 10pm)

Feb 10th: Magic kingdom park (emh at epcot, 8am-9am, not sure how to handle this)

Feb 11th: Full day at Universal Studios :yay:

Feb 12: Epcot (emh at magic kingdom, 8am-9am, again not entirely sure)

Feb 13th: extra day for whichever park we decide, until we have to leave around 5pm-ish

so any advice on how to handle this would be great! thank you! :):thumbsup2

I'm not sure what you're asking. There is well marked park to park transportation. For the days that you want to head to the EMH park, and then head elsewhere.....there are buses from the resort that will get you to the EMH park. If MK has EMH mornings, take the bus there from POR. Then, take the monorail to Epcot. You would hop on the monorail at MK, go to the TTC (2nd stop after MK), transfer to the Epcot monorail. It's all very easy.

Not sure how you are planning on getting to US/IoA though. That's a whole different issue.

hi! what i mean, is what time should we leave each emh parks to make rope drop? sorry shouldve mentioned that.
also how long is the averaged transportation by bus throughout the disney parks?

i have my transportation worked out for iso/us, dreams unlimited :)
thanks!

It's going to be hard to take advantage of EMH mornings and still make rope drop at, say, Epcot. You need at least 30 mins. Lets break it down a bit. Leave MK and walk to the monorail platform...possibly 5+ mins. The monorail could be at the platform, or you could wait up to 15+ mins. 10 mins from MK to TTC. Transfer to Epcot line....could be there, or you could wait...possibly 15+ mins. Then, 15 min ride to Epcot. If the monorail stars align perfectly, you could leave MK and be at Epcot 30 mins later. That gives you a mere 30 mins in MK...hardly long enough to do much.
If it were me, I would head to Epcot for rope drop right from POR on one morning and do the MK EMH the other morning....and then head to a different park at 9, forgetting about rope drop. Not to mention....rope drop at Epcot takes forever...it takes a fair amount of time to get into the park if you aren't at the front of the park. Make FP+ choices at Epcot for after 10am...then you don't need to rush or stress.

Not sure why you would do Emh at a park, stay for a few minutes and then go to another park. You are waiting a lot of time doing that.

I'm confused about this as well.

It makes no sense to go to a park with morning EMH and then try to get to another park in time for rope drop. Is that what you're planning?

In general, I plan on being at the bus stop 1 hour before rope drop.

What I think the OP is asking is how to get to a park for EMH, period. From the looks of their schedule they won't be park hopping, All except for February 12. Will you be getting park hoppers, or single day tickets? It would be a waste to get park hoppers and just hop one day.

From Port Orleans you have to take a bus to any and all parks. Buses leave early enough to get you to EMH.

All of your resort to park transportation will be by Disney bus.
You can go from AK to MK by bus.
MK to Epcot, or give versa, is by monorail, with a transfer at TTC.

Frankly your plans for the 10th and 12th make no sense. You need to allow an hour for Disney transport from park to park, including going thru security. So you would have next to no time at all inside the EMH park before needing to leave for the next park. It sounds like you only want to do EMH just because you can. But you really aren't going to achieve anything at those parks as things stand.

Most people who have park hoppers and want to take advantage of morning EMH will go to the EMH park and stay for at least a couple of hours to make maximum use of their time during the period of lower crowds, then move to their second park around 10 or 11. Current wisdom seems to be to schedule your FPs for the second park, since by the time you get there, the standby lines will be about as long as they will get for the day.

I have a feeling the OP is new to WDW and has no idea how large it is, or how long it can take to get from point A to point B. Lets try to be helpful without being condescending.

I don't think that anyone is trying to be condescending, we're just genuinely unclear on exactly what the OP is asking.

hi! sorry for all of the confusion, this is my first time planning a a trip to disney ... we do have park hoppers for every day...do you recommend using the hour emh and then leaving freely for the other parks? or just not use the emh? im not sure what my best course of action is here.

when i check the crowd calendar, it shows that the parks with emh are moderately busy while the others that do not have emh that day are not busy at all. what i was tying to do is getting the most time at the parks, and also going to the parks on the least busy days.

if i am still confusing please let me know!
and thank you for all of your help!

Whether or not you want to take advantage of EMH is really a personal decision. If you decide to, you should plan on staying at that park until about lunchtime and then hopping to another park.

can i ask your advice of what you personally would do with those hours? reminder, the ones with emh are more crowded.

i think it's pretty clear that im not the best disney park planner so any help is greatly appreciated. :)

If you can make it to the park for the beginning of EMH, then you're going to get to see and do a lot during that extra hour. But remember, it's your vacation. Do you think you can you get your crew up and to the park by that time? If so, go for it and then hop to another park later on if you want. Parks with EMH aren't necessarily busier during the day. It's more a matter of it not being worth going to at regular park opening time (like the people staying off-site have to) since there's already an hour of people ahead of you in the lines.

But as others have said, it's not at all realistic to go to EMH at one park and then try to make it to another park's rope drop. If you go to EMH commit to that park until at least lunch, if not the entire day.

hi! thanks that is super helpful! So i figure i have three options, which one do you recommend? also can you look at the crowd calendar and consider crowd size?
thanks!
okay so :
1) feb 10th, we could go to epcot all day +morning emh, and then on feb 12th, go to magic kingdom all day +morning emh
2) feb 10th, we go to magic kingdom all day for low crowd size, feb 12th go to epcot for low crowd size, both regular operating hours
3) feb 10th, go to epcot, 8am-10:30am then switch to magic kingdom, feb 12th, go to mk 8am-10:30am and then switch to epcot?

thanks again for all of your help!!

Personally, I would go with option 3 (although I might plan on staying a bit longer, maybe 11:00 or 11:30.)

While it's true that the park with emh will be more crowded overall, those first few hours will not be very crowded at all.

alright ! i thnk im going to do that! thanks again!

Back when my son was younger and woke up at 5am in a hotel room no matter what, we did what you're trying to do. We'd be at the early open park when it opened, do the headliner rides while there was no wait and then hop to the park we expected to be less crowded at about the time that park opened. Transportation was a breeze since there wasn't usually anyone waiting for the park to park transportation that early in the morning. We'd easily hit 3 parks a day. I don't know if I recommend that approach for the non-seasoned Disney traveler, but it was never a problem for us. I also don't know that I'd purposely try to *wake* up to do that. We did it just because we were already awake. :)

This is what I recommend as well. I would plan to be at EMH right when it opened. It will not be crowded at all and you can get tons done in the first 3 hours. Then I would hop to park # 2 around 11 for the rest of the day.
Have Fun
