Need Help w/ Kids Races At Minnie

My younger boys want to sign up for the kids races. Problem is there isn't any information on start times and where the races are held - at least that I can find.

DH is running the 5K on Saturday and I am running the 15K on Sunday but we both want to be there for each other as the cheering section along with our boys, so do the times overlap? Where are the kids races held and will we be able to get from the 5K or 15K to the kids race in enough time?

What about the kids races for the Marathon Weekend '09? I am doing the half, oldest DS and DH want to do the Family Fun run, buy youngest DS wants to do one of the kids races.

Cobbler, I'm sorry no one has answered your question yet. I'll take a stab at it..then maybe others will jump in to correct me!

On the Disney WWoS's site, once you are at the Endurance page, click on Disney's Kids' Races, then "Register" and that will take you to the individual races, i.e. Minnie and Marathon weekend.

The 5K at Minnie starts at 7 a.m. With a 15 min pace, that puts it over at close to 8 for the very back of the pack people. The kids' races will be in the EPCOT parking lot where the 5K will end. They start at 8:15. Soooooo, you have to figure what time DH will complete the 5K. If he does an 10 min. mile, you'll have plenty of time to get over to the kids' races.

The kids' races were held on Friday, same as the Family Fun Run during Marathon Weekend. I would think that the timing will be very similar. I know the races are held in the AK parking lot, where the Family Fun Run ends. HTH!! Anne

Thanks Maherae, it looks like I should be able to sign them up for the kids race.

Our plan for cheering on hubby was in Epcot right around the big ball area for him entering and leaving the park, so after we see him go by on his way out we can head that way ourselves - I hope - and get the kids to the race.

Or at the least, we can cheer him on as he is going through the first time.

If anyone else knows anything different, please let me know.

I wrote Disney about this (sorry, I can't find the message anymore) and they said you can't enroll now, you just go do it after the race, not comforting for an overplanner like me but they didn't seem to have any doubt that I would be able to do this without problem so I trust them!

I just signed up both kids for the kids races right after the 5K during the Minnie weekend through Active.com

So you can sign them up all the way through Race for the Taste races right now.
