Need Help: Transfer of points

Can any point me in the right direction for how to conduct a point transfer? Do you have to have the same use year? Can you borrow points to transfer?

You cannot transfer points that have been borrowed or banked. You do not have to have the same use year to transfer (or receive) transfered points.

After you have found someone and agreed to terms, you just call MS. The CM will make the actual transfer.

Transfers are final transactions and cannot be reveresed.

Can transfered points be banked?

That is - if I transfer points, say, 150 HHI June 2009 points to my friend, can she bank them and use them in, say November of 2010?

Also, there is a limit of one transfer per year. Is that calendar year, or use year? And if it's calendar year - can I transfer from two different use years? Say June 2009 and June 2010?

We're planning a longer stay in a larger villa with friends - just trying to figure out the best way to make it all happen.

Never mind... I found my answer in an older thread.

The person to whom the points are transferred may bank them.

You're limited to one transfer per UY - but the rules seemed convoluted, so I'm probably best off calling MS on that one.


Any thought about putting these rules into a sticky or something? I sure this question comes up a lot.

I just completed a 100point transfer from another DVC member. It couldn't have been easier. I posted what I was looking for and another member contacted me via this board and then e-mail. He agreed to transfer the points and I paid via paypal once I verified with MS that the points were in my account, it took less than 30minutes. (once we agreed to the sale). You can check on the seller, just see how many posts they've made, get their DVC contract number etc. It was painless. Good Luck!
