We have a trip booked for this Oct/Nov. ( a Disney Land and Sea vacation), and already I want to investigate taking my two younger children back to WDW next summer.:yay: (can't get enough of Disney right now!)

The time frame we'd like to go is anywhere between the end of June (willing to take my kids out of school early) and up to the end of August, staying for 7 days, leaving on day 8. (one DS's birthday is in July and the other is in August, also DH's Birthday is in August).
I've begun to investigate purchasing all aspects of the vacation separately vs a package. I figure DVC points can be rented for a hotel stay costing us between 3 and 4 hundred in total (is that correct?). Then we'd have the park tickets for 7 days, flight costs from Syr, and would have to purchase a dining plan (or can that only be done with a package?).

If we booked a package, we'd hope Disney has FREE DINING for dates next summer, and would stay in a value resort (least cost room as we don't plan on being there much).
I'm having a difficult time coming up with costs (disney planning site isn't working properly for me this morning, or perhaps it's my computer that doesn't want to work properly).

Can anyone help me come up with a ball park figure for the least costly way to do this? That would help me plan NOW, how much I'd have to save for a year away. I figure we need no less than 5 days in the world and no more than 7.
THanks for any points ect....

I would have to say that based on the last few years, Free Dining will probably not be offered at that time.

Last year it was for September only, but then they ran a later run of it through November and early December.

This year they had the 4/3 option for that time of year.

I do not want to be a "Debbie Downer" but, I would not "plan" for free dining. I would plan it and if a promo came up - great it may save you money, but I would not "plan" for free dining.

Have fun!!!

We rented points for a 2 bedroom BCV, and it still costed several hundred a night (which is still a lot less than rack). I remember it was comparable to 2 moderate rooms.
