I am really in limbo about what I want my table to look like for my reception. Could you guys post what your table did/will look like?

JonetteA this is a good question- it is probably one of more "creatively" difficult decisions. I think the table decor sort of helps set the theme and feeling for the wedding (it is also can run $$$$$$$) so finding one that suits your theme, budget and style really is important!

I remember you saying you were having a brunch/lunch is this right? Do you have a theme or color scheme?

Maybe I over analyze this portion of the wedding (my date is not until june 2007) but as an interior designer it is probably one of the most important parts for me!!!! I would love to see what you all have done. :goodvibes

JonetteA - I notice your picture icon is cinderella and I know what your save the date theme is...so why not a cinderella/princess theme. That would go well with your colors as well. If you are having a lunch reception you can still get formal with your centerpieces. If you like flowers...go with icey blue colors...disney has a centerpiece on wishbook that is called "cinderella floral arrangement" - it is a clear holder with light colors. You could also find out about a cinderella's coach to place in the center. That might be one idea for you.

Jonette - go to the pfaltzgraff website - in their catalog they have a pumpkin coach centerpiece that holds a small pillar candle in it - it looks to be dark, either a black or dark antiqued bronze, but it probably could be sprayed silver - with a wedgewood blue candle it would look great - it cost about $20. :wizard:

Isn't it cute? Maybe a little bit of that sparkly wire garland with the little hearts on it? Maybe spray it a more cinderella type of blue and top it with that pearlized spray paint then use the silvery glittery wire stuff? Either way, my DD was a cindy themed bride so I think I'll have to buy her one for Christmas!!!!!! :wave2:

BTW Jonette, I haven't forgotten about posting some of the pictures from DD's castle sitting like a promised a few months ago - just so busy here with the grandbaby (7 months old) and DD went back to work yesterday - so as soon as I can get DH to help me I will post those pictures!!!!!

I found these two photos and thought they would work for you if you wanted to go with floral centerpieces they would also work in conjuction with the pumpkin carraige candle holders (id sprayed silver..they are cute! :goodvibes ). I guess the deciding factor comes down to $$$ for most of us unfortunately :confused3

The second would probably be more affordable and would look great in a silver julep cup! Another affordable flower option is giant overflowing blue hydrangaes in a silver vase w/ tea lights...they are more affordable than most flowers yet still look elegant!

You could also do a hurricane lamp on a antique shaped mirror with blue and white flowers scattered about....those are just some ideas!

I have seen cinderella glass slippers that I think something cute could be done with.

Wal-mart has some castle shaped candles that I think would make neat centerpieces; there were two colors sparkley white or sparkley dark blue. I'm thinking of going back today to buy a few even though I'm not sure what I'll be doing as a theme yet.

My sister in law for her son's wedding bought a print a sticker kit and using the clear sticker base printed some wedding theme stickers with the bride and groom's names. She then stuck these onto glass votive holders that were the wedding colors (white, sage and yellow). She got these cute votive holders that hold three votive candle holders in a spiral design. She decorated these with a silk flower arrangement. They were very pretty and the votive holders doubled as a favor. Another decoration they had were larger fat candles sat onto mirrors with a hurricane globe sat over them. The tables were oblong so they alternated the two candles arrangements down the tables with rose petals and wedding confetti scattered between.

Or something really cute could be done with small snowglobes. I've seen some different princess ones at places like Wal-Mart and Target for about $10 each. (In fact my DD has a cinderella one). I'm picturing elevating the snowglobe and then making an arrangment around it with flowers and maybe some tapered candles.

It's all a matter of personal taste and budget. I'm sure something is sure to stike a creative idea for you.

Speaking from a cost effective standpoint, I can't remember where I saw it, but someone had used small pumpkins, like cinderellas coach. I'd bump it up a notch and maybe use some silver wire for the legs and platinum spray to gussy it up, maybe hollow out the center and use a votive inside- very cost effective. That would spare some money to add more pizzaz to other elements such as embossed placecards or fresh flower petals.

On another note, I have heard that some brides give their bouquets away to the longest married couple in the room. You could do something similar by buying several pairs of glass (well, plastic, but you get the idea) shoes as centerpieces for each table and filling them with flowers/candy/etc and addressing a note such as:

"Please return this slipper to the princess of the table whom has enjoyed the longest life of wedded bliss."

Something cute I'm thinking of doing.

Disneybridein2k3 - i love your centerpieces. I want something like that for my living seas reception. Did disney do those for you? did they print the table numbers?

Thank you! Actually, Rosie from Disney Floral did them - and they were reasonable priced as well! I did the table cards on my home computer and just glued them to card stock - Disney provided the stands. I had a table chart that I printed saying who was sitting at what table (ie: parents at the "Ariel" table, etc). It worked out quite well.
