Hello im planning a surprise trip for my daughter in September for her 7th birthday. As a treat i am going to be bringing my oldest nephew (8) with me. Well his birthday is this weekend and i wanted to put a little package together for him, as a little mystery that he is going on a speacial trip with us, but he wont find out where we are going until we hit FLORIDA as i want it to be a surpise for both of them.

What would you do???

I would make up a small basket relating to vacation items that he could use. Examples would be a t-shirt, flip-flops, a disposable camera, coloring books maybe? etc. Then I would give instructions saying he can't use the items until the special trip, if you think he would be fine not playing with the items before you leave. You can make them Disney related, unless he would understand and figure out that you were going to Disney. HTH!

Give him a token present and tell him you are looking for something very special but can't find it. Let him know you didn't forget his birthday. My kids like delayed presents because that way they are not getting everything at once.

I've surprised my boys twice. It was soooo much fun:goodvibes

We are surprising our 10yr old daughter with a trip as well. I hope I can keep it a secret until then. We asked her what she wanted to do for a family vacation and she said she wanted to go to Vermont (we live in NH) to go to Ben and Jerry's. Well I hope she won't be dissapointed!
