Next year from August 21st to 26th 2005.

I will be bring a group of friends...
7 adults 2 kids....

I was thinking of doing 3 studios...

Reason ...

The group is this
A married couple with a 4 year old. (Studio)
A marred couple with a 1.5 year old. (Studio)

ANother married couple.
And one single person. (Studio)

Any one else have any other suggestions? I have 250 points per year. And I would not like to borrow if possible... But will listen to suggestions:Pinkbounc

Is the single person with the last married couple related to them? I think it might be kind of ackward in a studio if not.

no not related... But best of friends...

best man in wedding...

So you are thinking 4 rooms?

What resort did you have in mind? If you're doing OKW, you'll have 2 queens for the married couple/friend. If not, they'll all be together with just a queen and a sleeper sofa. The sleeper is fine for a kid, but I'd bet most adults would prefer a regular bed.

Good luck planning!

My advice is to go with a 1 bedroom for the married couple and single adult friend. That way, there will be at least some privacy. Personally, I'd be very uncomfortable sharing one room with my husband's best friend (even though I like him very much, too).

Another option to consider would be a 2 bedroom (married couple, single friend, couple with child) and a studio (other couple with child).

Best wishes -

That time at the end of August you can get the 5 nights you need at an OKW GV for 225 points. Each couple will have their own BR and the single person can have the sleep sofa. You will have 4 bath rooms and a full kitchen... plus all that room. But you all will need to get along being in 1, very large unit.

Single person planning it is me.... I do not want to sleep on Sofa...

If I am taking them all down there.... including airfare... from NY...

THen I think I should get a real bed?

As a single person, there is a couple that I sometimes travel with. I've known them almost forever, they were former co-workers of mine, and we have no trouble sharing accomodations. I would, however, suggest booking at OKW if you are using studios for everyone. The two "real" queen beds are great and it prevents any "awkward" moments over who gets "the" bed.

I would get yourself a separate studio, you deserve to have a real bed and your own space. Other than OKW, you'll have a queen bed & a sofabed in a studio, I don't think the couple on a sofabed will be comfortable if you room with them and take the bed. You'll also only have 1 bathroom. OKW is only 10 points per night, it would be 200 points for 4 studios. For BWV preferred, VWL or BCV, it's 13 points per night, total 260, BWV standard would be 11 points per night or 220 total (that's a slow time of year, you maybe able to get them at 7 months if it's not your home). For SSR, it would be 12 points per night, 240 total.

Which resort were you thinking of?

You could get the 4 studios there for 240 points and still be under your 250 points. I wouldn't share a studio with the couple.

Another option for a few more points would be a 2 bedroom and 2 studios - 155 + 60 + 60 = 275. That way you could have the luxurious master bedroom/bathroom and give the 2nd bedroom to the couple. The 1 bedroom setup is what sold me on DVC (large bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room), I've never stayed in a studio even with 2 people. Or since you are close friends and if you wanted to give them a treat, give them the master (king bed) and you take the 2nd bedroom.
