Hi, need some help fast... I'm going to a wedding TODAY of a co-worker, not sure how much to give as a gift. Some of the details....

I don't actually work directly with him, but he does sit at our lunch table.
This is his first marriage, her second, he's about 55.
It is a small wedding, only about 40 or so people.
There will be a luncheon after the ceremony, but no music or anything.
They have been living together for about a year.

So, I think I'm just going to write a check, but don't know how much to give. Don't want to appear cheap, but also don't want to give more than what would be appropriate. Thanks for your help!

$50 maybe?

I'm not good at these things either.

50 if you are going alone and 100 if you are bringing a date?

Here, I would give $20. Don't know what the norm is there, but people don't ever give more than $40-$50 for a family to attend here... MY family didn't give more than a $30 shower gift for my wedding.

Its so regional... it's hard to advise you the best. =)

Have a good time!

I would say $50. It is a safe and generous-enough amount.
If it were family or a REAL good friend, at least $100 would be in order. Hope you have a nice time:D
