My family and I are planning our second WDW trip. Our last trip was 8/05 and after experiencing Florida heat and huge crowds, we decided to go the exact opposite route and go either the week before Thanksgiving or the week after. But before I book anything, I was wondering if anybody could answer a few questions.

1) Pop Warner Football. I've heard there is an annual trip and that it tends to crowd things up. Does anyone know when this event is held, or where I can find out?

2) Cheerleading. Again, I heard about some annual trip and again, I heard it's not an ideal time to go when the cheerleaders are there. Does anyone know when this event is held, or where I can find out?

3) Christmas decorations. Are they up before Thanksgiving?

4) Christmas parades. Do they have them before Thanksgiving?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! ::MickeyMo

Our family of four just returned from WDW. Our last trip had been the week of July5-12. The heat and crowds were oppressive ! So we too, planned to go during an "off time" :rotfl: We went the week after Thanksgiving and had a great time. The crowds were low and the weather was almost chilly (of course I am from the South).

To answer your questions:

1. Pop Warner is the football/cheerleader event you are thinking of. It is usually held the first week of December. They have a website you can go to and check on the dates for sure. I think it may be www.popwarner.com.

2. Same as #1

3. The Christmas decorations are up by Thanksgiving.

4. There are Christmas versions of the parades in MGM and AK. I'm not sure when they start running these, but my guess would be Thanksgiving. The Christmas parade at Magic Kingdom only runs during MVMCP at the first of the season. After the last MVMCP, the Christmas parade replaces the regular parade in Magic Kingdom.

I would really try to go at this time if you can. Everything is beautiful...I'm already trying to work another trip in for next Thanksgiving.
