Usually when I plan Disney vacations, they're for me and one or two close ones who are laid back, so whatever we plan, we'll have a good time. We always like to hit Disney during the holidays because it's so magical and you can't help but feel good and have a great time.

My boyfriend's family has deemed me the Disney expert because I've been so many times, so now it's up to me to plan their first trip to Disneyland.

Cast:
:tinker: - Me, I'll hit the big 3-0 by then. :scared:
:chewy: - My boyfriend, 33.
:MinnieMo : - My mom, 59.
:earsboy: :earsgirl: - Boyfriend's sister and her husband. 30s
pirate: - Boyfriend's nephew, 6
princess: - Boyfriend's niece, 1

We plan to stay within walking distance, and I hope to get in a break during the day, though I suppose that will depend on what time the parks close.

My mom and I went this last March (13th-16th, Tues-Fri) and we thought the park was really busy, so we're hoping to avoid that this year, especially since we'll have a decent sized group and some youngin's. So, when would be the best time to go to maximize our time in the parks, yet not have terrible crowds? It sounds like the mid-late Feb through the first week or so of march are the dates that would work for everyone. We're planning to do 3 days in the parks, all non-weekend.

Also, does anyone have any advice for doing Disneyland with a 1 year old or a 6 year old? And how does the parent swap ride thingie work? How do I find out which rides participate? I've never had to use this before.

We're going for 6 days between the 1st and 10th of March. - I haven't allowed myself to pick the days yet.

I'm hoping that it won't be too busy then because it's before spring break and Easter. I'm hoping it will be a little warmer then going in February, but chances are it will just rain... - That's what I'm telling myself anyway.

The problem with not going on a weekend is that you'll miss the fireworks and fantasmic. I think I'm going to plan on going on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, just to make sure I see them.

Was I any help at all? Or did I just start rambling about MY holiday and how great MY holiday will be??
