Taking my 6 year old on a mom and me trip to WDW :cloud9: I have a friend that can help me get a good discount on the room...so I really want to treat her (and myself) to a Deluxe.

Which one would you choose for a girls' trip?

I think the Boardwalk or the Beach Club would be great for both of you! The pools are both excellent and so fun, and you would be very close to Epcot and the Flower and Garden Festival, which you both would enjoy! :) The rooms are great, and you have some excellent dining options, like a great character breakfast at the Beach Club, and of course the Boardwalk Bakery! :cloud9: Even though she is only 6! If you would rather be close to Magic Kingdom, the Grand Floridian would be fabulous, but that is a bit of a stretch, even with a discount!

I voted "other"

The Grand is a perfect Princess place IMO. It's so girly and flowery that I think it would be a great place to stay for a Mom/Daughter trip. :goodvibes

From the choices you listed, I would pick the Contempory. AK is also very nice, especially if your daughter loves animals.

I voted "other", too. :) I'm putting in a vote for the Beach Club or Boardwalk. It's such a pretty walk to Epcot and you can do breakfast with the princesses at Akershus.

I voted "other"--I think the Poly would be a great place for a girls' trip! Sounds like a fun place for kids....of ALL ages. ;)

I voted "other" with my choice being the Poly :goodvibes. The Poly is a great resort with a nice tropical theme......and the volcano pool is great :thumbsup2. Plus the beach is always nice to sit and watch the fireworks :wizard:.

My two cents any of the Magic Kingdom Resorts. and a monorail resort is even better. looking out seeing the castle great.

If I had the chance to have a mommy and me trip I would choose the GF or Beach Club. Like someone else stated the GF seems to be very nice for a girls trip, you have the afternoon tea and princess meals at 1900 Park Fare.
I love the Beach Club and the pool there is amazing.

I am sure you will have fun no matter what you choose. ;)

I voted CR because it is on your list, is very close to MK, has monorail access, a fun pool, the marina, on-site character meal, great restaurants and shops. We have stayed there a number of times and both kids have always enjoyed it.

We have stayed at the Poly several times too and love it! DD (11) recently told me that she loves the Poly but doesn't like the pool there as much - "it's still fun, but I don't like its layout"

I'm doing a surprise girls trip w/ DD in a month :yay: and we are doing a split stay between WL and BWI. The reason we are not staying on the monorail is because we always stay on the monorail and I wanted to try something different (DD does too - I got secret feedback from her when I was looking up info that I told her was related to a trip DH & I took last fall when I had a conference at WDW). Anyway, picked WL because that was the resort that DD most wants to try. Picked BWI so we could try an Epcot resort, and DD has commented that she'd "like to get spit out the clown's mouth into the pool" :goodvibes

Is the trip a surprise? If not maybe show her some pictures of a few resorts you are considering and let her pick.

I voted AKL that is if she loves animals, my other choice would be Polly or GF, those two look girly girl
Have Fun

I would do Poly if she loves the castle, you can see the fireworks every night over the castle and if you spend a lot of time at MK the monorail and ferry get you there fast. They have a nice zero entry pool as well.

I voted other as GF or Poly would be my first choices. CR would be my choice from thelist you shared.

I'm going to list them for you with pros and cons...

AKL....beautiful resort, great view of animals. Kind of distant and not girly.

CR...proximity to MK is terrific, ease of monorail to Epcot. Kind of 'dated' but still okay. Not girly either.

WL...beautiful resort, close to MK. Not so girly.

Poly....very tropical, so a bit different. Close to MK, great beach views of the Castle. Nice theming...could be girly.

BW...beautiful, sort of formal resort, nice walk/boat to DHS and Epcot. Pool is terrific for kids. Very ladylike resort...but no food court type area.

BC...great pool area, has a small grab and go area, nicely themed, with good access to both Epcot and DHS

GF...very girly...doesn't get any more girly than this. Very formal in feel. Close to MK via the monorail or boat. Cons?? Sometimes it feels too formal!

Which to choose?? Up to you. The GF is the one resort I have never, ever wanted to stay in. But, many others don't feel that way. I liked the Polynesian well enough but felt it was just 'okay'. I stayed at WL last summer and found I didn't love it as much as I had thought I would. BC??? Like it there..it's bright and cheery. Would stay there again.
The CR? I've stayed there. I actually bought DVC at BLT. But I sometimes think the tower has gotten a wee bit dated..yes, it's a classic, but I don't really care for the theming all that much.
AKL??? Love it there. We all love animals in my family. We are looking forward to their first stay there in April. I've stayed at both Jambo and Kidani, so can't wait to share the fun with dh and dd.
BW has to be my favorite resort. I just love the feel of it. It's welcoming yet a bit on the formal side. Love the pool area. Love the boardwalk with all the shops on it. Love being able to walk to both Epcot and DHS.

The choice is a very personal one I guess.
