I would greatly appreciate any help folks can provide on this one. We finally took the plunge, and are in on a BCV resale. Contract went to Disney for ROFR review on Tuesday, 1/17/05.

What experience have recent purchasers had on timing to close, and inclusion in the DVC system? I figure we should hear on ROFR by early February (3 weeks)? Assuming we can close by, say, 2/15, how long until we are in "the system?" We are making a spring break trip arriving 3/16/05. I know it will be too late to use our new points for our room, so we are staying at AKL-- but we are planning on getting APS, and I think DVCers get a $100 break on APs? The bottom line question is this: Do people who have run this gauntlet recently think we will have our DVC status (membership number, I guess), in time to buy our APs by 3/15 and get the discount?

I did not go the resale route however I did some stuff (book trip get ID # for web before I had all my paperwork done .So once your in the system you can get a lot of info from MS even if the paper work is still in the mail.

Good luck

We signed the re-sale agreement and paid the deposit on 11/28. We were notified that we passed ROFR around December 26. We are suppose to be in the Disney system sometime next week. I hope this helps. Good luck.

If you close by 2/15, you should be in the system and have a membership number by the time your March trip begins. I doubt you'll have your blue membership cards by then, though. You need the membership card to purchase the DVC-discounted APs. But you can stop at the SSR Sales Center to pick up temporary membership cards and then you'll be good to go - for the Discounted APs and all the other perks that may require you to show the card.

Hope Disney works quickly and passes on its ROFR!

Best wishes -
