Hello - so I finally caved. After waiting and waiting for a discount, I got nervous and booked a room only AAA res at POFQ for august. But I wanted DDP. They said that I can't get DDP with AAA rate. I knew you couldn't get the AP rate but I forgot about the AAA rate. Question, if I go through AAA can I book a discounted package with DDP? Or is the only way to get the dining plan to book a rack rate room? I knew that for free dining last year, you couldn't get any other discount but I didn't realize that if you were paying you still couldn't get any discount.

I really just couldn't bring myself to book a room at rack rate! Any suggestions?

Missy

Packages utilizing an AAA discount must be purchased through AAA. Noone else can do it. Since getting DDP means you must have a package, if you want DDP and AAA you must contact AAA. Room only reservations can not be turned into a package reservation so the reservation you have now will have to be cancelled, but don't do that till you are sure AAA can get you the package you want...AAA discounts are limited so there is no guarntee you will be able to get it.

DDP is considered to be a discount and you can not stack discounts. In the past this has limited packages with DDP to rack rate or AAA rate, but they do sometimes offer discounts that can be applied to a package with DDP now. However these won't necessarily be any better than the aaa discount. Booking with the AAA discount assures you a less than rack rate and if a better discount comes out AAA should be able to replace the AAA discount with whatever deal if there is availability.

Hi Missy,

Call an AAA agent and request a package with your room, tickets, and DDP. Disney cannot add the DDP to an AAA room only rate; only AAA can do that. I'm saving about $400 off 8 nights at the Poly in July compared to what CRO quoted me by going through my local AAA agent. Your discount will come off the room portion of your package.

I would suggest you post over on Resorts and see if someone can recommend an AAA agent. Based on what I read I would NOT just call any random agent and book. (Does the word CLUELESS mean anything?)

You can get the AAA discount on the room portion of the package (room, tickets, DDP) if you book through AAA and they have rooms available. Once you book, you can still do all your ADRs yourself if you are concerned about getting them right.
