Need help..olympus XD question

I know this is a shot in the dark..but...I am hopeful...you can always count on the DISboard. I have an olympus d-580 with an XD disk. Can not find our manual ( I know manuals are downloadable now..but we are having computer issues as well, so that doesn't help) and I can not figure out how to delete my XD disk all at once as there is no option on the camera screen to do it and I can't put pics on our computer (computer problem, remember) and erase disk that way. I have over 1400 pics on the disk and I need to start fresh. Any direction you can point me it?

Any D-580ers out there or XDers out there who can help with this? Thank in advance. Michelle

You don't see a "format" option in your menu? That will effectively delete everything on the memory card.

Mike and Groucho: FORMAT did it! One quick question though..Thanks to you, I now realize it will erase the disk...but will repeated use of this format function (to clear the memory) harm the disk/memory in anyway? Thanks again! I appreciate your expertise! Thanks a million! Michelle
