Need Help Now!!!!!

We need help making a desicion on which resort to stay in. We had decided to stay at OKW and have that reserved but now my husband has decided to save some $ and put in a storm cellar at home. OUr choices are 2 rooms at All Star for 2,700.00 (with los passes) or one room at the Poly for 2,600.00 with the length of stay passes. We have 2 adults and 3 children ages 12, 9, and 7 and the thought of 2 bathrooms does sound good but so does being on the monorail. Please help me make this decision so I can get this reserved! Poly. Get up before the troops so you get bathroom - you can go get them up on your way out to get coffee. Also, rooms are large here.

We have had connecting rooms at All Star Sports (they will do this if there will only be kids in second room), and the extra bath was great. It also gives the adults a place to sit after bed time. The transportation will not be as good as the monorail but the busses are efficient. Have you considered a different type of ticket to save money? You do not say how long you are staying but the length of stay tickets can be pretty expensive. Sometimes an Annual Pass can save you money on the room, and Park Hopper tickets are good forever. Just something else to consider.

You were right! LOS passes were expensive. We now can get the 2 rooms at All Star Sports for 6 nights for 1131.00. We would not even get to use all the days on the pass because our flight comes in late and leaves in the afternoon. I think we will be able to save quiet a bit this way. How is the food court in the Sports? Do they have breakfast items? Thanks

I have never stayed at either on, so I can't offer any imput. But I think I would go the connecting room route with the three children. Have a good vacation!

They offer all 3 meals at the All Star Food Courts. We also have 3 children & 2 adults. Have you considered the cabins at Fort Wilderness? They are usually more expensive, (depending on the rate you got at AS) however, they have a full size kitchen. We justify the cost by eating breakfast, some lunches & a few dinners in the cabin & saving money on meals. FW is an AWESOME place to stay. Also, depending on when you're going they may have a special rate. Check mousesavers.com. Or if you belong to the Disney Club check these rates. It may also be worth it to get at least 1 Annual Pass to try & get an AP rate.

Info on the cabins - It is not a cabin which you would rent at a State Park or anything. It is more like a full size recreational vehicle. Full size kitchen, large bedroom w/ bunks & a queen bed. Murphy pull out in living area. Large outdoor deck. A lot of privacy. Bikes & boats to rent. Campfire program.

Gather all the info on all different accommodations to make your best decision.

I also have 3 children (17,9,2) and we stayed at the Poly last August and loved every minute of it. The monorail is so convenient and you're also next to the ttc. The resort is so relaxing and the kids will love it. The rooms are very spacious and we didn't feel crowded at all. When our little one fell asleep we would sit on the patio in the evening but it was rare that she was asleep before us. We loved everything about the Poly. The volcano pool is also wonderful and the kids will love it. Good luck with your decisions.

Does the 1131.00 include passes? I'm confused! If the price for both rooms and passes is a lot cheaper I would do the All-Stars. If not much different, I would do the Poly. The time that you would save having two bathrooms would still not be less than the bus ride compared to the monorail. Does that make sense? We did have 2 rooms (with 5 people) at ASMo in Jan and it was great! You and DH could have your own room and the kids could have theirs. Either way, you will have plusses and minuses.

Hi I am a real fan of the Poly. I would think about the All Star though for the simple two TV's and two bathrooms. We love beingon the monorail. I think that sitting on the balconey at night watching the world go by is wonderful and I like it in the AM too. I have two teens and they always opt for the Poly over two rooms at the All Star. DD just got back from her senior trip and she said the All Star was great but she missed the Poly and the beach. The food court was great she said.

I think you will enjoy the All Stars and having two rooms. The extra bathroom and space will be great.

Once, about four years ago, my father had just purchased a new fifth wheel camper and was planning to take me, my wife, my son (then 2), my sister, and himself (obviously) to Disney for a week. He lives in NC, as did my sister at the time. We lived here in Tampa then too. We had reservations at Fort Wilderness. Well, just two days before we were scheduled to leave, he noticed the brakes on his truck were not working. He could not get them fixed in time. I jumped on the phone with central reservations and to our dismay could not get rooms at the same resort for the stay. We ended up arriving on Saturday at the Music in one room (four adults - 1 enfant - CROWDED), then on Sunday got a second room at the music. On Tuesday, we moved to one room at the Contemporary where we stayed until Thursday when we checked out. Our choices to stay at Cornonado Springs Tuesday night (in one room) and then All Star Music again on Wednesday night (in two rooms), or to spend both nights at the Contemporary (one room) but not to have to change rooms again. We opted for the Contemporary because my father just did not want the hassle of changing rooms. We had a great time and the moral of the story is about making the best of your situation. This was one of the best family vacations ever, eclipsed only by last years 7 nights at Port Orleans Riverside (same cast of characters with the addition of my daughter (2)).

Anyway, after that lengthy story, despite the size of the room at the Contemporary (with two queen beds and a day bed) the two rooms at the All Star Music were definately more comfortable with that many people.

The All Star food courts are great. Lots of choices, that the kids will love. They also have toasters and microwaves that you can use. We brought oat meal from home and made it in the microwave every morning. The refillable mugs are just wonderful too. The busses are the biggest drawback, but with the exception of at park closing we never waited long. Even at the Poly you have busses to MGM and Epcot. Like everyone has said check out mousesavers.com there are some codes out.

Location, location, location.

If the price is comparable or cheaper for the Poly, I'd go Poly. Yes, two bathrooms would be nice. Not having to invest 45 minutes plus to get from the All Stars to the MK on a bus...priceless. Now I sound like a visa commercial . Don't forget monorail access to Epcot. We are not a big fan of the WDW bus system. Renting water mice on Seven Seas Lagoon, way cool.

All Stars are ok. Theming is interesting, pool is ok, food court is good for cheap eats. Poly theming and atmosphere are much nicer, pool is nicer, easy access to many restaurants at the monorail resorts. I believe the overall experience would be much better at a deluxe like the Poly than at a value resort, as long as you don't mind being close in the room and can figure the sleeping arrangements. Poly has two beds and a day bed, right?

Can't go wrong either way. Good luck.
