Okay here's my puppy,

the names have been dropped down from 12 names to 2 "Mike" or "Phoenix" (we're Linkin Park fans..lol) Some people like one or both.. so help please :)

Anyway here are some pics the owner sent me ..

I like Phoenix just because it's something different. DH & I are not big fans of naming pets common people names...so Mike would be out for us.

I think the name should fit the dog. Phoenix fits your cute fluff ball. I hope you enjoy having him as a dog. :)

I dunno... every phoenix I've seen an image of has been reddish-orange. Just Googling phoenix on Google Images, the first few pages are exclusively reddish-orange. I suppose it could be a good name, regardless, if there is a back-story, like the dog was in a car accident and survived, for example.

Something to consider, if you do go that way, though, is perhaps a silly spelling: Fenix, perhaps. :) (Why? Why not! :))

I do see the point, though, of avoiding common people names. The closest we ever have come is naming a cat Murphy. Personally, I'm a fan of characters from Greek mythology. One of our cats is named Kaliope (LINK), the Greek muse of heroic poetry. I'm going to lobby hard for our next female feline to be named Thaleia/Talia (comedy) or Kleio/Cleo (history).

:lmao: We're just the opposite. Our pets always have people names. I'd feel so silly leaning out the back door and yelling an unusual word or name. My ex's first K9's name was Apolo and it just seemed really odd for a huge shepherd that I always thought of him as Paulo.

So I'm the odd one out and I vote for Mike. But as a warning to the OP, over the years, our dogs have had names like Sunny, Charlie, Brandy, Max, Tory, and Sissy.

I like Pheonox too....as far as naming him that & someone mentioning that it's reddish-orange, we had a dalmatian named Stripes! I like to be different!:goodvibes

I thought I would know from the pictures - but in the first, he looks like a Mike, in the second, he looks like a Phoenix!

In the end, though, I do tend to go with "regular" names for animals, so I think I vote Mike.

What a cutie!! I like both, and DH and I have had many dogs named people names. We are a little odd about what works for us. The name has to be easy to yell across the yard to the dog!:lmao: So it has to be two syllables.

Phoeeeeeeenix!

Miiiiiiiiiike!

I like Phoenix!:thumbsup2

Lol you guys are killing me hahaha I would name him Tillikum, but i already have a fish named Tillikum. haha Im about ready to just name him Linkin. Lol we just had to go with the whole linkin park thing..

"Come phi-phi"
"Mike sit" hahah this is insteresting

past dogs were- Skyla, Sadie and Twink. my mom has "Sassy" and my sister has "Maddison" and a cat named "Lulu".

After much deciding Me and my family threw the 4 names in the hat (mike and fenix) and my 2 niece's threw in "Skipper" and "Rufus" And we had our neighbor pick out the name so none of us could rig the choice - which was funny cause we knocked and said- can you pick out a piece of paper with the name written on it for our puppy- she of course laughed really hard and pulled out the name.

"Mike Puppynoda" (we'll call him Mike for short) LOL so my Pup finally has a name I believe Fenix will go to the next finned friend i recieve. Thankies for the help EVERYONE. and btw he has a twitter (lol) curtosy of my hubby if you want to see what Mike's up to its twitter.com/Mikethepuppy
