Need help - MASSIVE amounts of weight to lose

Thanks for my welcome back - where's everybody else???

Soo - Last night my freaking treadmill broke - while I was on it - it just came to a dead stop and I almost fell off. Dh - when he stopped laughing - checke dit out and is going to see if he can fix it. Something about an internal breaker or something. (He's an Electrical Engineer and I swear he interntionally talks over my head sometimes - lol) If he can't fix it - we'll have to get a new one. No big deal wince it's 12 years old anyway.

My plan for today:
Weight Control Oatmeal with Cinnamon Pastry Coffee with Skim Milk(LOVE my Keurig)

Lunch will be a WW meal

Snack pretzels

Dinner.....http://www.halfmysize.com/recipes/king-ranch-chicken-casserole.html

Hi! I am jumping back ont he weight loss wagon and found this WISH board and your thread. I haven't read all of it, but you said a few posts ago that all you eat for lunch is a ham sandwich and you needed more. I know a lot of the Progresso soups are only 0 - 2 pts, so you can have soup and a sandwich (or a half-sandwich). I always have a piece of fruit with my lunch. Letely it has been an apple, but I just follow the seasons. If I can't find good looking fruit at the grocery store, I'll grab a few baby carrots. I also rotate around soups, sandwiches, frozen meals and the occasional lean pocket for variety [although I have been stuck on soup lately b/c of the cold weather].
My hardest thing is exercise b/c I leave home at 5:30 am and get home at 5:30 pm. My goal right now is to take my pooches running twice a week, building on that, and doing weight training once a week.
I have about 35 pounds to lose (though I'd be happy with losing 20) and I am just now starting to get motivated b/c spring is coming.
Good luck MareQ!

Good Morning, Sistahs!

Welcome back Mare! Welcome to Todd & Copper and disney-inspired!

Well this week has been a total bust for me so far. My eating has been out of control and I have been so exhausted that I have not exercised once. Friday I found out that I have a sprained hamstring so now I have to do physical therapy 2x a week for 6 weeks. Today is my first session. Hopefully after that I will be energized and feel like exercising tonight!

I got some bad news about my dogs over the weekend and I have been really bummed about it and I think that is partially why I am so exhausted. Hopefully next week will be better!

Have a great day Sistahs!

~Michele

Good morning - yesterday was a great day!

Breakfast was 1 packet oatmeal and 1 banana.

Lunch was a take out chicken caesar salad with half the dressing and I removed those delicious, greasy, cheesy, herby, homemade croutons they threw on top... I ate one, took the rest off and marched on like a good girl.

Dinner - WOW! I thought it was going to be just a plain old quickie as yesterday was my once a week trek to my office(I telecommute all other days) so I had a Boboli crust, low fat cheese and canned pizza sauce redy to go for dinner. Ho hum - on the ride home though I remembered I had red peppers and mushrooms so I sauteed up those with some onions in vegetable spray and smothered the pizza with the vegetables. 1 slice came to 6 ww points- I was under points so I had two and let me tell you - they were FANTASTIC!!!

I had one slice for breakfast just now - yeah unconventional but it was GOOD! Lunch will be a WW meal and I will be scouring the net to find a good recipe for the chicken I have.

How is everybody else doing??

LaLa sorry about the injury and your dog. It's so hard to keep focus when there's so much in yoru life pulling you down. Just fight it even if it's just to keep off the weight you already fought to lose.

Cone on girls!!!! Where are you????

Mare-

How are you and all my other Sistahs? I am okay, finally getting over this cough/cold thing. I walked for an hour this morning with the dog.

I am taking DD to the Y tomorrow to get her set up with a fitness program. She is 8 but has put on a little weight, and we want to get her fit and set a good example. We can work out together. Once the weather around here warms up a bit we can get out as a family and exercise.

I really want to lose 15-20 lbs before my cruise in 2 months. Actually 8 weeks from tomorrow. I can't complain I guess-I will be wearing size 12 clothing instead of the 22's I wore on our last cruise. But I would like to lose a bit more.

Hoping that everyone is well and doing well also.

A size 12 instead of a size 22?! That's amazing! I'm a 22 right now and I am aiming for 10/12 size :]

Wow, you are just inspiring me and showing me it is possible! Thanks!:goodvibes

Hey everyone!

Mare - Thanks for your kind words! You are doing a great job with your eating so far! Keep up the great work!

Vern - glad you are feeling better! Wow girl a size 22 to a size 12! That is awesome! Keep it up and you will lose those extra pounds you want by the time of your cruise!

Well I went to my first physical therapy appointment yesterday and they said I have to limit my exercising for 6 weeks. I am really only permitted to walk and do the stretches they have assigned. I don't have a problem with the walking but the weather is not that great here yet and I know there is going to be some days when I can't get out. My SIL let me borrow her WATP videos. Has anyone done these? Are they any good? Any ideas on some other exercises I can do that won't be as strainous on my legs? Hopefully this will heal well before the six weeks and I can get my butt in gear.

On another note I signed up to do the March of Dimes 5K walk in honor of my niece Maraina that was born premature. They had a fundraising contest and I won! I will receive a gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods (new tennis shoes here I come) and they are putting a special flyer in a local newspaper and mine and Maraina's picture will be on it! How cool is that!

Well I blabbered on long enough. Have a great day and weekend everyone!

Hi Ladies!

How is everyone doing so far this week? I've been doing pretty good! I have worked out Sunday through today so far. The most calories I've burned so far was 930 and that was last night. I'm sore but it feels SO good!

The diet is getting better. My calorie intake each day is 1750 and I've been doing alright but yesterday was horrible. I don't even know or want to think of how much I went over:scared:

Went to the gym today did the elliptical for 53 minutes.

I have to say that I have not felt this bad in some time. Not really sick, but just a general malaise, achy head, no energy. And with a busy weekend coming up, I see no respite in sight.

I have been running in the am, trying to eat better, but for some reason I cannot get my food under control. I make poor choices when we go out and I am not measuring at home. I need to do it, but I just don't seem to want to. I gained back 7 of the 50 I lost, and I cannot seem to get the scale moving in the right direction again. I really want to lose some more before my cruise, but I just can't seem to get it together. I know I can do it, I already lost 50 lbs, but for some reason this second 50 seems harder. I absolutely refuse to gain any more back, no way am I buying bigger clothes again.

So I just gotta get my booty in gear and get the job done. I would love to be at goal by the end of this year, but I will take whatever comes my way. No time limit on losing all the weight.

Hope that everyone else is doing well. Keep the faith-its what keeps us going!!!

Hello all! :)

I have not read all the posts but just wanted to jump in. I have about 50 lbs. to lose. I try to do WW at home since I have a calculator and can add up my points.

I find that when I have a Boca Burger (flamed grill are my favorites) with a slice of fat free cheese on a ww english muffin (3 points total)for breakfast I am not so hungry throughout the morning.

For lunch I often have a sandwich with ww bread, ff cheese and some of the Healthy Choice meats with an entire can of the new progresso soup or one of the healthy choice ones. I forget the number of points, but it is filling.

Sometimes I have a ww meal and I supplement with an entire can of green beans - some days it's all about the QUANTITY...lots of food! :)

I am ok when I am home on my own - it's when I am out in the "real world" when the trouble starts! Some days I watch my points so I can go to Dairy Queen for a cheeseburger and small vanilla soft serve.

I am not able to exercise much now since I am just under 3 weeks post surgery for a hysterectomy - but hope to feel better in a couple of weeks so I can get moving again. I am a member of Curves, and while I like it, my problem is is that the ladies there are so nice and friendly that they end up talking so much and missing the cues to switch machines so I don't get much of a workout some days. :) I am hoping to join the YMCA in a bit as my ds13 would like to work on the nautilus machines with me and he is old enough now.

I've got a Disney trip coming up in less than 5 weeks now and I was hoping to be LESS of me in the pictures, but at this point I just want to be strong enough to get through it! :)

Take care all!

Jill

I'm still here - down 12 lbs so far - just no time to sit and talk about what I ate and how I am doing. I have 4 birthdays this week. My son and my nephew both turn 10 and 8 today, my daughter turns 7 on Friday and my niece turns 3 Saturday. The niece and nephew with birthdays this week are my brother's kids - so they're just as crazy as I am with parties and Easter - lol. We seem to have issues with spacing out birthdays in my family :) (My youngest is born in September - ON my SIL's birthday - lol)

I promise I'll try and post daily next week after the craziness stops.. :)

Hope everyone is still doing well!!!

Hello, I would like to join this group, I need to lose at least 50 lbs, and just need some inspiration. I have a sedentary lifestyle, and I think everything I eat is bad. You ladies have inspired me to start today!! :goodvibes

Welcome Nikki! Glad to have you join our rag tag group of Sistahs!! We are in this for the long haul, so don't be afraid to share about yourself any and everything!!!

I am finally buckled down and getting it done after a 3 month hiatus. I am he!! bent on losing 20 pounds before my cruise in May. I am back to doing WW points (hard core too-strictly adhering to daily points, no flex or activity points) and exercising everyday in addition to dog walking morning and night. I have been vollunteered to join a running group on Sunday morning (my inlaws and I are running together) and my next race is in June, so I gotta get my can in gear. I threw down the gauntlet after the last race, telling my supercompetitive father in law that I would finish this next race in under 30 minutes. So if I don't I will never be able to live that down.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Mare, I hope you are keeping up the good work.

Gotta run-time to walk the dog and get the kiddo on the bus.

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Thanks for the welcome!! I am leaving tomorrow for a couple of days with family, but when I come back my DH and I will be walking the track at the local community college. We both need to lose alot of weight. I also need to watch my food, I may start doing my WW on my own as well, I have all of the stuff, just don't use it. LOL Have a great day everyone!!

15.5 now.... :) Of course a stomach virus will do WONDERS for a diet :) I have a VERY VERY busy few weeks coming up. Saturday is my fiscal year end at work and I run the year end inventory from start to finish. I may be quiet - but I will not go "off the wagon" - I will get on and update when I can :)

Stay focused girls!!!!

Okay, I'm jumping in here. I would love to join ya'll on this quest to
a lighter, healthier me. I have so much weight to lose it's not funny and
I'm to embarrased to tell ya'll how much it is. Okay, here it goes, over 200lbs.

We are trying, not to successfully, to get ressies for the week after Thanksgiving at Fort Wilderness and I would love to be much lighter. I know there is no way I can get it all off, or even 1/2 but I'll take any lighter at this point.

I'm not into surgery at this time either. I would rather not resort to it. So, may I join in the journey?

Mawnna

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

I read your post this morning and I can not believe one of the sistahs has not replied yet. I see you have not posted much and would like to welcome you to WISH. This is a wonderful place for weight loss support. I have not been active on this thread for a while but I think it is time to rejoin and get committed. I am 12 pounds down and I still have 158 pounds to go. It seems like an impossible task so I am focusing on 10 pounds at a time. I have been working on this same 10 pounds for a long time but I am doing better now. I can do this.

I hope things work out for your Thanksgiving trip and I know with commitment and hard work you can lose some weight by then. I always look into the future and imagine how wonderful it would be to weigh less. Then I slack off, eat junk, and do not exercise. Guess where that gets me, nowhere. I have been going nowhere for a long time now and I am sick and tired of it.

DH found this crazy diet on the internet and we are doing it together. I went to a function at church tonight with desserts for refreshments. I did not have one bite. NOT ONE BITE! It all looked good, I am still salivating thinking about the spread of goodies. But I did not eat anything. That is a miracle. I am very proud of myself. I will have my peanuts and ham slices instead. Yes it is a crazy diet.

So Mawnna first of all what is your real name and what does that screen name mean? Next I am wondering what is your game plan. To be successful at losing weight it is important to have a plan, just saying 'I am going to eat healthy' does not cut it because that is not very specific. You know what will work for you.

Take baby steps, don't try to do everything at once. That can get overwhelming and when you fail it is frustrating. I started with 5 things I think are important for me to develop as habits for a healthy lifestyle. They are:

1 drink 8 cups of water every day
2 eat 5 fruits and vegetables every day
3 exercise 30 minutes every day
4 do not eat after 8 PM
5 follow my WOE (way of eating)

I worked on one item a day and when I mastered it I added another. It helps me to write down everything I eat and keep a checklist of how I do with my 5 goals everyday. It makes me think twice before I eat junk because I know it will be written in my food journal. It also feels wonderful to check off my five items each day as they are completed.

In theory this will work when I do it, but I have not been doing it faithfully lately. This may not work for you but it is just a suggestion. You need to make a plan that will work for you. Remember this is not a diet, this is a lifestyle change. We need to develop healthy habits and change the relationship we have with food. When I look at all the years of my life I have wasted being miserable about my weight it brings tears to my eyes.

So let's get going on our weight loss journey Mawnna. With baby steps and victories each day we can change our lives and become the healthy women we want to be.

I hope you check back in soon. There are many people here to help and support you.

Have a healthy day!

Morning everyone!

I finally had a successful eating day yesterday. Yay!:thumbsup2 It's been so long since I've been able to say that. Since January, my weight has just been creeping back up until, the 30 I had lost by December is now only 17 lost. Oh well.:confused3 Just have to jump back in and commit again.

I'm such an emotional eater and the last couple of months has been awful, with my FIL's death, MIL's heart problems, and trying to keep everyone else in the family "together". The last couple of weeks I haven't even been able to keep ME together!;)

So finally I woke up Friday feeling "ok" Not good yet, but I'll take ok. I came in right at 1500 calories yesterday. I was shooting for under 1600 for the next week to get back in the groove, so this was great.
This morning, I almost feel normal. About to head off to make my oatmeal and bananas. Then I am painting my older two sons' room this weekend.

I have written in my exercise on my calendar for next week. (This weekend's exercise is painting and mowing the yard. ;) ) And typically if I write it down on the calendar, it gets done. And I have already set my alarm for Monday morning at 5am. I am going to be starting a very slow and modified version of the C25K program. I have already committed to doing a 5K in June and would like to be able to jog at least part of it.

Now that I've bored everyone to pieces with my life:lmao: , I'll let you get back to your weekend!

 Sistahs!
