I'm half brainstorming, so this may not be really clear, and it will be rambling! Please overlook it!

I had a huge idea today that I will make pre-made page kits for DH Grandma for Christmas. She is a scrapper (at 81 years young, goes to crops and everything), and she loves these page kits that the LSS sells. I could take the easy route and just buy them, but they're expensive (to me, lol) and I think it would mean alot to her that I took the time to do it myself, KWIM?

I do not have a Cricut, but I do have a Sizzix and two different alpha sets. I have no idea where to start. I thought about doing a fall/leaves page, Christmas (2 or 3), summer, camping (her great-grandkids had a camp-out at her house), birthday, Halloween, Easter, and winter. Each will be a 2-pg 12x12 LO.

So, where do I start? I'd rather not use stickers if I don't have to, and my LSS options are very limited. The "LSS" isn't very "L", it's about 35 miles of rural road away. We have a Michael's and AC Moore about an hour away, and then there's Walmart. Always Walmart. I also have a CM Consultant that is very close.

Also, how could I separate the pages when I wrap them? I'm hoping the CMC can ge me a 12x12 album box, if not I may have to dig in the closet to see if I still have the baby album one and empty it out. Is there anything I can use for the page kits though? The biggest Ziplocs I have won't fit the paper.

Also, should I completely assembly the pages, or just include everything in each kit? The ones at the LSS aren't pre-assembled, but they have a card showing what it's supposed to look like.

Thanks for any and all ideas, I'm so excited!

Steph

The 2.5 gallon ziplocs should fit the paper, so you may want to pick those up. That's all the help I can be:). I haven't been scrapping long enough to make presents out of my work yet, so I have no idea if you should assemble the pages or not....I do think it's all a really cool idea, though!

I have created calendars for my family that is premade minus the pictures. Then all they have to do is add the pictures. At the end of the year they can either put it into a 12x12 book or an 8x8 book. I have done both of these. My family loves them so much. That is all of them have asked for this year for Christmas.

A pizza box should fit your papers -- just ask for an unused one. DH did this one year when the kids went paper shopping for me for christmas.

You could take a photo of what the page is "supposed" to look like and use that as your directions card.

On the swap board, check out the sticky for completed swaps -- you'll see lots of ideas for elements to complete your pages. I am relatively new to swapping (not scrapping) and it has really increased my creativity and changed the way I make pages.

Another idea for a layout -- use a color theme as opposed to a specific event theme. You should be able to find stuff in your stash at home for this.

This is a great gift idea! I can understand why you are so excited.
