Hi!

Hubs and I just made the decision to move our Oct ressies from GF to Coronado. Gulp. Tears. Sadness.

I'm pretty much ok with the decision, but I need to hear from Coronado lovers.

What do you love about it???

Coronado is a wonderful resort! The grounds are really lush and beautiful. The pool and hot tub area are very highly regarded, and the resort has some of the best bus service. CSR has more choices of eateries and lounges than most: the Pepper Market, Maya Grill, Siesta Cantina, Rix Cafe, Rix Lounge, Laguna Bar, and room service. And CSR also has "deluxe like" amenities such as a business class, fitness center, lap pool, and spa/salon.

I think you'll really enjoy it if you give it a chance!

I liked the food choices and options as well as the wonderful scenery and landscaping. The main pool is amazing and the kids loved it. Also, it is close to Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach which are pretty great parks in my opinion. The atmosphere is a bit more relaxed and the rooms are still perfectly decorated and themed. I like the colors of the rooms and décor.
Bring your comfortable walking shoes to walk around the property water which is in the center with rooms and convention center all around. The lights on the water at night are stunning and you feel so relaxed.
Enjoy your stay!

I stayed at Cornado a few weeks ago. Before that trip, I had stayed at the GF once and the YC four times. Those were my only Disney resort stays. Anyway, I will say that it took me a day or two to appreciate Cornado. It was very different from my other two resorts.

The good:
Bus service is the best I've experienced. I never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus leaving or returning to the resort.

The food options were plentiful and really good.

The grounds were really pretty. The walk around the lake was beautiful at night.

All of the parks seemed to be a short bus ride away.

Now for the parts I didn't love:

I wasn't crazy about the theme of Cornado. I prefer beachy light decor. That is just my personal taste.

The rooms seemed very basic, but the beds were super comfortable.

I hated the outdoor corridors and hot elevators. Some people, however, prefer the exterior corridors. I prefer a balcony. Again, that's just personal taste.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Cornado again, but I do prefer the YC. The important things like cleanliness and service were great at both resorts.

And I would take CSR over the YC any day, lol. The outdoor corridors at CSR don't bother me. I think that they're quieter than the deluxe resorts or DVC villas with indoor corridorst. At least 10 times we've been awakened either early in the morning or late at night with noisy people in the halls. We're lucky that we're healthy enough to be able to use the stairs.

Actually, I like CSR better than Sugar Loaf at the GF. Now, I have to admit that nothing has topped RPC at the GF.

I really like the rooms at Coronado. I am a big fan of the actual doors between the sink area and the bedroom. I like the colors and they feel more spacious to me than the other moderates. I know it is all perception, but I like it. I like to take pictures, and there are so many opportunities there to stroll around and take photos. The hot tub is also the biggest on property.

CSR isn't one of our favorites but they do have one of the best pools and they really do shine when it comes to dining options.

We have stayed at CSR twice (after previous deluxe trips) to stay within budget. The grounds are beautiful and my DS loved the pool. I thought the buses were great because we didn't have to share with other resorts. While, the rooms are not quite as nice as deluxe, we felt the money we saved was well worth it. The second time we stayed business class and we appreciated the location and the lounge. It was a good way to "step down" from the deluxe. We also don't spend much time in our room. Since the switch to CSR brought us under budget we spent the money on other fun stuff to enhance our trip.

If you are sad because you feel you are stepping down, then book business class for a little more money. You get breakfast included and a few snacks / drinks for later in the day.

CSR has better bus service than the GF, IMO. the resort itself is just as pretty, just different. The outdoor corridors are not bad at all. The rooms, while smaller, are beautiful and comfortable. CSR is an amazing resort. You will love it there.

We stayed at WL 4 or 5 years in a row so we were very reluctant to choose CSR last year. We stayed in the business class building which was nice and needless to say we were soooo pleased with this resort!! The grounds are gorgeous, the staff was friendly and attentive, the food was good and bus service was great. It was nice not having to stop at any other resorts on the bus like we sometimes had to at our stays at WL. Our kids loved CSR main pool way better than the WL pool. Especially the water slide! Me too . You'll love it! We booked there again for this year without hesitation.

CSR is a wonderful resort. Not sure of your reason to change to CSR, but better at Disney at CSR than not at all. You can always do GF on a later trip.

I stayed at CSR in May, and it made me fall in love with Mods. I had not stayed at any Mods or Deluxe since I was a small child, and didn't realize how much nicer they are! Anyway, I thought CSR theming was beautiful, the beds were comfy, the rooms were modern and inviting. I plan on going back there. The resort is spread out. DH and I are very active people & runners, so we had no problems with the walk to and from the Main Blding to our location in Ranchos. If you want to be closer to certain areas, I figure just request a different building. The Maya Grill was DELICIOUS and I discovered my new favorite cocktail the Caipirinha that they serve *only* at the drink place outside of El Centro. Mmmm...I can't wait to go back!

we've stayed at csr several times. the last time was in january 2014 and we had a ground floor water view in cabanas. it was really nice. very peaceful, lovely hammocks by our room. the large pool is very nice and they roasted marshmallows in the evening by that pool. there is also a pool bar for frozen drinks. i think csr is very picturesque. the view from cabanas toward the main lobby at sunset is beautiful. hope you have a great trip!

We have spent 50+ nights at CSR since 2010. It's our go to resort. We really feel it is the almost deluxe resort at the Moderate price.

Coming from GF I do recommend the Business Class rooms for the premier experience at a WDW Mod if there are any available for your dates.

Hands down our family's favorite resort on property. We call it the deluxe of the moderates.

- STUNNING resort day or night with some of the best landscaping.
- Three distinct themes and some of the best imagineering on property in the Ranchos.
- Beaches, hammocks, walking paths, lake, fountains, wildlife, lush landscape.
- Awesome themed pool with spectacular pyramid, one of the longest slides, largest hot tub, beach volleyball, quick service and mug refill right at pool, pool bar with lots of tables, great playground.
- Central location spitting distance to AK, DHS and Epcot and at exit to main road to MK.
- Excellent bus service.
- Rooms are well appointed and best sleep I get is in their beds.
- Standard rooms that are actually courtyard views.
- Spa, Salon and Fitness Center.
- Business Class is awesome!! truly a deluxe like experience.

- More eating places than any other resort on property.
- Maya Grill, full Table Service D
- Las Ventanas, casual Table Service B/L/D
- Pepper Market, Food Court but menu has better offering, bigger portions and on china B/L/D
- Siestas Cantina, Counter Service by pool, smaller menu all day includes mug refills
- Cafe Rix, To Go Counter, very nice selection all day
- Rix Lounge, very cool lounge that serves appetizers and flatbreads, evenings
- Full Room Service, B/D
- Coconino Lounge IF YOU BOOK Business Class, Breakfast and Evening appetizer and snacks with beer and wine

We have stayed in all areas and LOVE Ranchos. Great for transportation, main pool and yet only a 5-7 minute walk to main hub depending on how long we stop to enjoy the wildlife in the lake. I love to walk and take pictures, here's a few...
