I am leaving in 3 days for a 6 day off site trip. We plan on spending one full day at Blizzard Beach and plan on covering two parks another day but need help deciding!! We definitely want to do Animal Kingdom from opening until 3 o'clock at the latest, but are having difficulties deciding on the second park...its between Epcot and MK. It's only my boyfriend and I going (both 19yo) neither of us has been since we were about 10. I will go on any ride and am open to anything, but i get bored just looking at stuff. My boyfriend won't go on roller coasters. Any ideas on which is the better park for us!?
 Hurry we leave soon!!!

This is such a tough choice, because both parks are beautiful, especially at night. My personnal favorite is MK though and I am almost 40(just in case you were thinking MK is too kiddesh for you). Illuminations is a great display, but for me the castle at night is unbeatable. Wishes is a wonderful display of fireworks and the castle lit up at night gives me the best feeling in my heart. I also think MK is funner. If you go there, try not to miss Mickeys Philharmagic, IMHO it is the best 3D movie inWDW. I am sure you would enjoy either one you pick. HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!

That's where the magic is I think you both will enjoy it to the max.::yes:: :wave2:

Tough choice. Can you possibly squeeze in one more day? You say you are going for 6?

Also, you say you plan on covering two parks in one day? You will have to buy separte one day admissions for them both which seems like a waste if you can only do bits of each one.

Or am I missing something??

Will he do any fast rides? Or will he just not do roller coasters?

There are no roller coasters at Epcot and only two very tame ones (Space & Thunder Mountains) at MK.

However, there are fast non roller coaster rides at Epcot (Mission Space and Test Track to name a few).

MK has more slow rides but Epcot has some great ones too. MK has the castle, but Epcot has the World Showcase. You will get a great fireworks show at either place. Both have great dining.

I really can't imagine cutting either MK or Epcot out of my Disney trip. I think the parks are so different that it really comes down to personal choice. Do you want a more Disney themed magical night or a more adult themed night?

We're staying in Melbourne with family over on the coast and because my b/f and i are only 19 we can't rent a car. This is why we have limited days at WDW because we hafta borrow a car to get over there. If we can get the car for another day I'd love to go again. We already planned to visit some things on the coast so that's where we'll be spending our other days....NASA, Cocoa beach (learning to surf!), and possibly an overnight down in the keys. As for the rides, I know my b/f won't do Mission Space, but i know he would get on test track and I'm pretty sure he'd get on anything at MK. We were told if we got there at opening we could prob see all of AK by 3!?! We're not the type to read signs and stand still for long, plus we can skip the really kiddie stuff so I'm hoping this time frame is true?! Then we were planning to go over to MK for the rest of the night? Our other option would be getting the 3 day park hopper and doing AK and what we could of MK one day and than going to BB and return to MK another day....can you do that?! and where do we get those tickets since we leave so soon?

you can buy the tickets at the gate (although at a disney store might be cheaper, but i'm not familiar with ticket prices at all)...

yes you can do AK by 3, but only if you get there before opening....

if you're only going to one other park, i would choose the Magic Kingdom....also my favorite....i love all the other parks, but the MK is still the best (and i'm 49 years old!!)

question: why are you planning on a whole day at Blizzard Beach?.....i know lots of people do this, but i can never understand why.....the lines are so long by noon that i don't think it's much fun after that...
by the way, note that you MUST get to BB before opening.......the first hour at BB is the best....no lines...after that it gets painful....
that's assuming you like slides (the slides in the back are great)..

at AK be sure to do the following:
--Kilimanjaro Safaris
--It's tough to be a bug
--Kali River Rapids (this is a river raft ride and you WILL get wet)
--Dinosaur - this isn't a roller coaster, so your BF should be ok with it...it's a lot of fun....
--Festival of the Lion King (a GREAT show....not to be missed)
--Tarzan Rocks (another fun show....not as great as lion king but still good)
--Flights of Wonder - (a small show with birds, but very interesting)

you can also do the following
--Maharajah Jungle Trek (a nice walk through an outdoorish zoo...nice tigers there)
--Pangani Forest Exploration Trail (a nice walk to see gorillas)
--rafiki's planet watch (a train ride to get to this area that has a kind of science/nature building where you can learn about conservation and animals....the neatest thing here is "song of the rain forest"...you go into a small booth and put on ear phones to hear something that i can't describe....we all like it)...

at the Magic Kingdom your boyfriend should be able to do everything except perhaps Space Mountain (although I LOVE this and i no longer can do roller coasters for medical reasons...but i can still do space mountain....)
thunder mountain is a roller coaster but it's totally tame so he should be able to do that too....
and splash mountain, well...if you don't do SM then you've missed the very best attraction in all of MK....we do SM at least 20 times each visit!!...
i would do a must-see list for you here, but basically it includes all the attractions in the magic kingdom...

You would probably like MK best. I love Epcot, but when I was younger I didn't appreciate it as much. It's kinda like going to a museum to me. Lots of interesting rides. I agree with disneyholic family: why spend a whole day at Blizzard Beach? It will be insanely busy. Have you been there before? If your boyfriend doesn't like roller coasters, I'm not sure he'll like a lot of the waterslides there eithier. If you get the 3 day park hopper and don't use part of it, the part you didn't use never expires. I think it's extra to go to water parks. (you'd have to buy 3 day park hopper, then pay for water park-not sure about that though) My husband and 2 kids can usually get animal kingdom done before 3. Be sure to get there before opening. Go straight to Kilimanjaro Safaris. And don't miss "It's Tough to be a Bug". It sounds like it's for kids but it's great for everyone. Have fun!

I have never been at Blizzard Beach but I understand, it's a blast! You are going to have a great time there. However, I question your selection of parks. Animal Kingdom is ranked last on my list for anything. I am not big on rides either so staying at that park until 3:00pm will be tough. I usually handle AK in a 1/2 day. My must see attractions; Lion King, Safari Ride, & It's a Bug's Life. My recommendation and I don't know what kind of tickets you have to hop around with, is to go to the Magic Kingdom in the morning (Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carribbean, Buzz Light, Jungle Cruise, It's A Small World, Mickey's Philharmagic)) and then hit Epcot at night. There's just something about Epcot that makes it my favorite. I just love walking around the world showcase and watching Illuminations. Hitting ESPN for lunch. Visiting the Living Seas, The Land, Universe of Energy, Spaceship Earth, rides at Norway and Mexico.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!

by the way, when you arrive at AK, be sure to check the show times so that you place yourself there at the right time (Festival of the Lion King usually begins its first show around 9:30.....Tarzan's first show is usually later than that)...

also, remember that you can use fastpasses if you need to (so if you get to something that already has a long wait, you can pick up a fast pass....but first check the return time to make sure you're still going to be in the part at that time)...

by the way, my kids (19 and 17) agree that the Magic Kingdom is a must see for you.
They disagree with you regarding your choice of Animal Kingdom, but that's another story (my 17 year old son prefers MGM and Epcot to Animal Kingdom).

You most likely can do all of AK by 3 if you are willing to skip some shows and sights. You said you don't really like just looking at stuff so I think it's doable for you.

I would try to get a park hopper though, I'd hate to see you spend the full price for a one day admission twice in one day to only see bits and peices of two parks.

If possible, try to borrow the car another day. :)

If you move quickly, and you'll be done with AK by 1pm (you may have to skip the shows).

You could go to BB after this. That leaves a whole day at MK (an easy choice over Epcot). Epcot is a lot of walking around and looking, and stage shows/films. MK is more visually interesting, and you can jump on a monorail and have lunch/diner at one of the nearby hotels.
