There is a good possibility that I will have to rent an electric wheelchair for the first week of May for my aunt while we are in WDW. We are staying at SOG. Does anyone have experience with a local company that will drop off and pick up an electric wheelchair at the hotel?

I appreciate any insight you can provide....

Thank you,

Debbie

I've moved this thread to the disABILITIES! board. The nice people here should be able to help you. :)

if you look in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board, you will find information about renting wheelchairs and ECVs. The information is in post #2 of the thread. There is a link to that thread in my signature if you don't see it close to the top of this board.

Just FYI, so you rent what you think you are renting, power wheelchairs are driven with a joystick that controls the direction and speed. Most of the companies won't rent them to people who don't have experience driving them (they are not quite so easy to drive as the Hoverround commercials make them look).
People without experience are able to rent ECVs (power mobility scooters). Those are steered with a yoke, kind of like bicycle handlebars, and are much easier to control.
