Need help in Atlanta Hotels

We are driving from St. Louis, MO to Orlando. Our plan is to stay overnight in Atlanta. It's been many years since we drove to Orlando. I remember staying off 285 which was perfect since it was directly off the highway and right in our path. I found a hotel (Townplace Suites - Marriott) off 285 in Norcross. A friend of mine (who lives in St. Louis) said that Norcross was out of my way. Is this true? If so, can you suggest an area that would be better suited for driving toward Orlando.

Yes, Norcross is out of the way for you.

First, I suggest you look at your route on a site like Mapquest.

If you intend on getting up in the morning and heading south, you may want to stay on the south side of the area to avoid rush hour traffic.

You can use tripadvisor.com to look at reviews of the places/hotels you might consider staying at.

I75 and 285 intersect at the south side of the city.

Norcross is several miles N.E. of 285.
