Hi everyone,

My BFF and I will be heading to WDW next week for a much needed weekend away from our families and work!

We will be there for 3 nights. I had originally planned to do Epcot our 1st night for EMH so we can drink/eat around the world. The second night we are planning on bar hopping through Downtown Disney. The third night is still not determined.

However, we may wind up switching days 1 and 2 depending on the weather. If it is supposed to rain on day 2 (our pool/DTD day) then we will swap that with the Epcot day. That said, if we go to Epcot and it closes at 9 that night, we are going to be looking for something to do afterward. We may go to Jellyrolls. I used to be a HUGE JR fan, but the last couple of times I went I just was not feeling it.

But if we decide to not go to Jellyrolls, what do you all think about Atlantic Dance Hall? I know every time I have peeked inside, it was either a) being used for a private party or b) empty. How is it if it is open to the public? What is the 'dress code'? How is the bar? What type of music do they play? Is it real dance music, or more top 40 stuff? Are the DJ's any good (do they just play one song at a time or do they do mixes, etc)?

I was also wondering if anyone had anything to say about Rix at CSR. I have the same questions about Rix as I do about ADH.

Any help or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I don't know if you're going to have a rental car but if you're not, consider renting one for a 24-hour period and use it for a shopping day and a party night. Find a way to get yourself over to Universal's CityWalk or downtown Orlando because you're not going to like your options on Disney property.

Atlantic Dance can be fun if there are a lot of conventioneers staying at the Swan and Dolphin; otherwise it will be dead. (It's not likely to be closed for a private party.) It is Top 40 and hip hop videos and there are some good DJ's that play there but they can only play what they have and it has to have a video to go with it. Have only been to Rix once and was not impressed; it's actually pretty small.

Feel free to visit my Blog at www.savepleasureisland.blogspot.com for various options. I last reviewed Atlantic Dance on April 19th so scroll down to that date to see what I had to say.

Hope you all have a fun visit!

City Walk at Universal Studios is more of the party type atmosphere. But get a taxi, it's much safer than driving in Orlando. You don't want to come on vacation and leave on probation. :drinking1They are very serious about DUI there, We are from there and we always get a taxi. If you choose to to party at DTD, Bongo's has some okay music and pretty good drinks. The Irish pub is a casual place and has music after 9:00.
We are having a girls week (Hopefully) during Food & Wine. 2 of my friends DH's jobs could be downsized. So we have our fingers crossed.
If you do go to ADH, please post a reveiw and of Jellyrolls to. I haven't been there in years.

Hope you have a wonderful time..pixiedust:

Thanks!
We are renting a car, but I don't think I would drive to Citiwalk - I know far too many people that have gotten DUI's in the recent past (relatives included,) to even consider driving home from my local bar, let alone in another state! Plus I don't drive that well at night to begin with! :)

We may wind up over there, taking a cab, anyway. I really could go for a hurricane from Pat O'Briens! :thumbsup2 and I have heard good things about the new(er) dance place.

Wherever we do wind up I will be sure to report back.
