Hi, I bought my first Cricut today, got a good deal on Expression. Tested it out with a Mickey and Friends cartridge. I'm having trouble setting it up to use 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock, can't figure out how to change size from 12 x 12. Also, could use some pics of pages using the cutouts from that cartridge for inspiration. Never scrapbooked before but have been hoarding Disney stuff and finally ready to get started! TIA!

To use smaller cardstock put the cardstock in the lower corner (the far corner from where the blade starts). You then put the sheet in the machine and then use the arrows to move the blade to the upper corner of the actual paper. Then press the choose paper size button (something about paper size) and the machine should tell you what size it thinks the paper is and will only cut on the paper. If you remove the paper and then choose load last - it does not remember the paper size is smaller than 12 by 12 automatically- you have to manually adjust again.

I tried that but it didn't recognize that it was smaller paper. Still said 12x12. I'll try again tomorrow and let you know if I figured it out.

Glad you figured it out... If you look in this section at the sticky thread called the "virtual scrapbook (start at the last pages) you will get to see some various ideas and cricut cuts on pages.

If you need insipration for other page ideas and use of the cricut check the swap board in this section (creative community) and look at the sticky thread that it is titled "using swap elements"... and it has various things we have made and exchanged with the cricuts.

Enjoy!!!

HI!! I plan to upload pages to the virtual scrapbooking page.. but thought i'd upload the specific disney character pages here... enjoy!

hope you can find some inspiration here....

The doghouse was created on the Imagine... Instead of individually cutting out each piece, i printed the doghouse as one piece and then cut.... The bone border is from the Mickey Font cart as well.

On this one: the words: "Works of Art" I used the cricut markers that go in where the blades fit -- the markers draw the letters --- then no cutting. Thought the letters turned out good! Of course - the chipmunk is here - and Donald's hat...

This is the 'cover' --- then it opens up to:

I have some REALLY cute pages w/ Jasmine and Aladdin... can't find the pics right now - but in the meantime:

Thanks so much for posting your pages. I'll definitely take a closer look.
