OKAY. I understand that this is a touchy situation, but has anyone gotten married at Disney and NOT at the wedding pavilion?

I know I know..I can already feel the negative vibes from everyone..the thing is my future sil has a very very little budget and the minimum $3000 ceremony that Disney has is WAY outside their limit. I know what you're saying, well then a Disney wedding isn't for you. But would you let that stop you?

See we’re all going to be down this December. They wants to surprise everyone with a small ceremony while we're there and then have a bigger one here at home next year.

Personally I would love to help her fund it and have a wonderful ceremony at the pavilion, but my bil won’t hear of it.

I’m just wondering if anyone has done it. Please. PM me if you have to.

have you considered an off site location? my bm got married at leu gardens 2 years ago outside orlando & it was a beautiful wedding. plus it was affordable, thats my advise.

The Swan might be another option. I don't know what their smallest package costs.

And yes, if I couldn't afford to go through DFTW then I wouldn't get married on Disney property. I wouldnt want to run the risk of a CM stopping my ceremony.

DisneyMommyMichelle (a fellow Diser) got married at the Swan. She went through www.justmarry.com and they organized everything. I'm not sure how inexpensive they can go but you might want to check with them.

My sister also couldn't afford the DFTW 2 years ago so she also went with Leu Gardens and Rev. Tim...he arranged everything and I believe it was around $750...although less expensive options were available.

We stayed at wdw, she honeymooned at wdw and the night of the wedding we did the poly luau and illuminations cruise. The whole day still had a disney feel to it and it was affordable for her.

awww why would you get negative feedback for not going to the pavilion? i know there's a TON of other places that are just as romantic and beautiful in Disney where you can get married other than the Pavillion!

You may already be aware of the different intimate packages, but the package for the other Disney sites such as Sea Breeze Point and Sunset Pointe are $2450.00, while the package for the Wedding Pavilion is $3,350.00. At least those are the prices for 2006. So you could do the intimate package at a different site for about $900.00 less than the Wedding Pavilion package. OR I would definitely do what the other posters have suggested and look into a Swan Wedding and into Just Marry, they offer some great wedding packages as some extremely reasonable prices. HTH and Good Luck!!

A wedding at the swan is definitely cheaper, but still might be more that you are looking to spend. I know that some have rented a villa or some other large room and married there. this might be an option. I dont really have much more info on this. maybe someone else here might.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions and comments. I've sent emails and made phone calls, so we'll see what comes of it.

But keep your ideas coming.

Another idea is English Gardens (their Web site is englishgardenweddings.com). They are in the same general area as Leu Gardens (north of Disney) but are pretty, reasonably priced, and you can pick and choose whether you'll have just a ceremony, add a reception, the type of reception, photography, etc. Just another option for you to look into! Good luck!
