Need help getting a delivery to BLT...are they just unhelpful or mean spirited???

hi there

I live in Australia and will be at BLT 16th sept, I ordered 2 parcels from Disney outlet and they have been refused delivery 3 times now...they have been sent back to Memphis again yesterday.

Why wont the person at BLT just direct UPS to contemporary??? I have had other parcels delivered OK over the last week, using the exact same address details......and as I live in Australia, I cant just pick up a phone and call.

I am so angry,one of these Disney parcels have been bouncing back and forth since July (3 trips in total I think)...its not rocket science person on front desk at BLT, just direct them across to Contemporary.

I just hope nothing is broken and I then have to try to return it in the short time I have there......

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated...and who do I speak to when I get there to complain????

Parcels for BLT or the Contemporary are delivered to the business center at the Contemporary because they have a conference center. Disney outsourced deliveries to the conference centers. There is a fee for each parcel, $5-10 based on weight.

Even if you could get a delivery at BLT there isn't anyone there to sign for it.

So after trying 3 times to deliver to BLT (don't know why they didn't go to contemporary, had the right details etc) they are now sending it to:

yep, thats right, no street number, no street name, no resort name...just whats written above. trip # 4 back to Memphis after they cant deliver them again.........

I don't think they will hold that far in advanced. I'd be disappointed if they did.

being from australia we do things well in advance, and on the 3 years previously there has been no problem, and we would have thought that the US economy would encourage our dollars ..regardless of $$$ being spent 1 month or 1 day before our trip....but that is

the topic of this thread is how could a parcel 2 days ago 28th Aug, be rejected for a 3rd time to the correct marked address, with us arriving in 13 days......why is this so???

the other reason of this thread is to try to get the correct name/ department to complain to re this issue.

But maybe I should have stayed on the Australian site where its a tad more friendly. Lesson learnt.

Exactly what address have you been shipping to?

The following is what should be used to ship to the business center at the Contemporary:

Guest your name arriving x/xx/12
Disney's Contemporary Resort
4600 North World Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-1000

Reservation #:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'd probably change it to Disney's Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower just to cover the bases.
But if this is what you've had then I have no suggestions other than to call or try and email the business center at the CR and see what they say.

Karen, I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with this.
I know it must be SO frustrating.
I hope the info KAT4DISNEY gave you takes care of it for you.
How long are you staying? Will you be only at BLT?
Just trying to think of other possible alternatives.
Like, tho it may in fact be a bad idea, if you order from WEGOSHOP, have it delivered to them, and they deliver it with your groceries.
Or if you move to POP or POR after BLT, have it delivered there, then go pick it up from there when you arrive.

I'm sorry to hear about the hassles you've been through, but I have to agree with the others. Having something delivered to your resort in July when you are not arriving until the middle of September is asking for problems. There is no way that the resort can (or should) be expected to hold something for a guest for that long. I would think a week would be the longest I would consider reasonable, and even that is bordering on excessive. The resorts will hold a package for a guest as a courtesy (the delivery fee is not something I consider part of holding the package since it is charged to receive the package) and if that privilege starts getting abused, it will be taken away.

We typically arrive on a Sunday and have our UPS delivery set up for Friday. I wouldn't want to put my belongings under somebody else's watch for any longer than needed. There's simply too much risk of it getting "misplaced".

so the resort BLT might not even be aware that you are coming.

secondly blt can't store it - CR has to. So would do what the op have say send it to CR.

Storage over longer periods of time costs money in terms of staffing and space. It also opens Disney to theft/liability issues.

Typically 10-5 days and yes I would think they would need the guest's name in their computer system to be able to accept a package for them.

the parcels have been returned AGAIN from now POP century resort (Disney outlet even changed the address for me etc )... receiver refused delivery....even the woman at Disney outlet store who sent them is confused, and getting annoyed.

I rang contemporary re the 4 other times, they have no idea why they weren't accepted, as the lady says (she was ooba helpful and what I have coome to expect when dealing with disney), the time frame isn't an issue as they deal with many overseas guests on a large basis, who send packages months in advance, they have the room for these..so we are all perplexed and befuddled....

so my poor parcels are now on their 5th trip (2 parcels), 3rd trip for 1... back from Memphis, TN.....shame I cant enrol them in FF program.....

on our aussie boards we are waiting with baited breathe waiting for the next installment.

My husband had a package that was shipped Fedex that had something wrong on the address label, so it just kept going back and forth - all over Atlanta, and to and from Tennessee. It probably made 10 different trips. What finally got it to the right place was calling Fedex until he found someone who could locate the package and get the label fixed. He had to call multiple times, but once he started calling regularly, he finally got the package delivered. It was in limbo over a month, for a trip from Tennessee to Georgia.

You know when you call the resort you are getting a call center in who knows where (Tampa? Kansas??) and you really aren't getting the resort.

These boxes do enjoy their trips to tennessee

Hopefully disney will sort the label again and get it right this time...one can only hope.I may need to ring when we get into wdw from Australia.....if they still haven't made it.

I just wanted to add...On the first line, I had my name and reservation #. On the second "Disney's Bay Lake Tower @ Contemporary Resort" When the man at UPS started typing in the information for shipping, this heading popped up as the recommended shipping header and address for that location. FYI - the month hold for packages policy is not the same at all of the resorts. At the resorts without a conference center, they just don't have the room.

I have never shipped that far in advance but I do ship down decorations about 2 weeks before we get there for the room . My home resort is SSR and I have not had a problem .

Makes ya wonder what those boxes are up to maybe trying to tell you where you need to visit while you are here .
