Need help- German Food- for school activity

If I were you, and you have a crock pot to keep them warm in, I would take the wurst idea one step further and make currywurst--which is an extremely common and popular fast food over here. Wurst is cut into bite sized pieces and put into the mildly spced sauce and generally served at fairs and the like with little picks to ea the piece with. Just to echo what someone else said_ German chocolate cake (or brownies) is NOT a German food at all--the baker who created happened to have the last name "German"--lots of people make that mistake though, so no worries

My daughter had Germany when she was in 3rd grade. I made a very easy Black Forest Cake that got rave reviews. The correct German name is Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte.

If you have a World Market near you they hAve a ton of German candies and cookies.
Like the previous poster said I would go with Haribou Gummy Bears. They are in second grade and what second grader doesn't like gummy bears also it will be easier for your child to carry in and no clean up.

Yes! Aldi has pretzel crackers that are imported from Germany and they're wonderful!

My absolute favorite German food is wiener schnitzel, but it's very time consuming.
