If I were you, and you have a crock pot to keep them warm in, I would take the wurst idea one step further and make currywurst--which is an extremely common and popular fast food over here. Wurst is cut into bite sized pieces and put into the mildly spced sauce and generally served at fairs and the like with little picks to ea the piece with. Here is a simple recipe that gives the right idea:

Just to echo what someone else said_ German chocolate cake (or brownies) is NOT a German food at all--the baker who created happened to have the last name "German"--lots of people make that mistake though, so no worries
