Any hints or tricks to keep pies from getting watery?
 
When putting your mixture together for the inside of the pie, if you find it too watery put just a bit more flour or a touch of cornstarch.
 
for a fruit pie - sprinkle the bottom crust with minute tapioca before adding the filling. It will absorb extra liquid.
