Need help from the experts - when can I borrow pts??

Hi all, waiting to hear back from ROFR on my SSR contract - already planning trips!

My question is this - I have an August UY and want to plan a trip for October 2013 using all my 2013 and 2014 points. How soon can I borrow the 2014 points? Are they available on 1/1/13 or do I have to wait until August 2013 when my UY begins?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm new to the process

I may have answered my own question - I think I can borrow 2014 whenever I book the trip, since my Oct 2013 trip is in my 2013 UY and I can borrow from the following UY (2014) regardless of when I book, correct?

Yes, you will be able to borrow your 2014 points when you book your trip.

Right. Points are not "deposited" into your account when the use year begins. They are there far in advance, before you would need them. If you look at your account online, you should have August 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. So 2014 points can be borrowed to make a reservation for a stay in your 2013 use year.
