Need help from tech savvy digital scrappers

I have a scanner that I like to scan things like park maps or other memorbilia in for my scrapbooks. However it only saves them in pdf files. I need to know how to convert the pdf file to a jpeg or something else that I can use in my digital scrapbook. I have CM storybook Creator and I am pretty sure I just can't put the pdf file in.

I guess I need help on what to do to get these items in my book.
