Ok, I'm an AP holder and I just booked 2 nights at the GF with a pin code that I got in the mail. :thumbsup2 I may be mistaken, but I thought that I heard that AP holders were now able to add the DDP to their reservation. I know that in the past this was not the case since the DDP could only be added as part of a package, and obviously if you had an AP, you didn't need a package with tix. Anyhoo, I asked the CM if I could add it on and he said that I could not unless I was booking a package with tickets. :scared: I did some investigating today, and wdwinfo tells me that I am able to add the DDP as an AP holder. The sticky on this page confirms it too, so it must be true. Anyone know? Was the CM wrong? :faint: In order to add the DDP, did I need to book the room with an AP discount rather than a pin code? If I can add it on, should I just try calling back for a different CM? Thanks all!!

I am an AP holder and have booked room plus dining twice with an AP holder discount on the room. :)

Unless there is something about the PIN code that is preventing you from adding it ~ I would say the CM was wrong-o.

Thanks. I'm going to call back tonight and try again.

I had the same problem in August. We booked AP rate for a few nights and I called to add the DDP, the CM told me NO that I needed to purchase tickets. I knew he was wrong but he said he asked and the answer was still no. I would have called back but this was right before our FD package so I just let it go.

Well, I did call back, and the CM that I spoke to took some time and looked into it. Turns out I really can't add on the DDP because the room was booked with a pin code. If I wanted to book the room as an AP package without the pin, I could add the DDP. Needless to say, I wasn't willing to give up the 40% discount, so I went without the DDP. Oh well, at least I checked. Thanks for all of your replies.

There are ticketless packages for AP-ers. But as the OP found out it is not a matter of adding a DDP onto an AP discounted room. (Assuming too that it was a room only:confused3 .)
Room only is not WDTC. The ticketless AP packages are. And the dining plans are from WDTC.

I have an AP and booked a Free Dining Bounce Back for 9/2009. Will I need to buy tickets to get the free dining?

I think that you will have to buy a 1-day ticket, I think the only way to get free dining - regardless of being an AP holder or not. It still could be a pretty big savings. If you buy the 1-day ticket, you might then be able to apply that towards a new AP for the next year. I know you could apply it later to a NEW annual pass, but not sure if you could apply it to a renewal. That you will have to ask.

I had a 40% off AP code and just booked it last night, I added the dining with no problem. We are going in October. You are getting the room for 40% off and just paying full price for the dining plan. I would call back again, that doesn't make sense.

Does this work with the Florida resident seasonal pass as well? Can you book a room only plus dining package with that kind of annual pass, or only the traditional ones?

Well, now I don't know what to think. She looked at the code that I had received and determined that it was not an AP code. I'm going in October too. Was your code a PIN from a flyer, or are there AP room discounts out already? What do you all think? Should I give a 3rd cm a try?

I got a code in the mail. I was always told you could add dining to any code you got, you just would not get any discounts on the dining portion.

OP can add the DP, but will have to buy a 1 day base ticket for each person in the room. The only way to get DP without buying tickets is to add the DP to an AP room.

Since the OP got a room that was not at an AP rate, she can't get the DP without the additional tickets... Make sense?
