Hi All,

My daughter has a college English class that has required her to write a paper on the 'best' of anything she chooses. Well, she has chosen to do her paper on Disney parks and needs help. She has asked me to see if any of you have any opinions on why Disney is the best theme park to take children. She also would like to find out more about the employee training that helps make the parks such a friendly enviornment. She is going to use another idea introducing how Disney was first to use fantasy and reality as a way to take people away from everyday stresses. She needs opinions, websites, and book names that she could use for her paper. I told her I knew just the place to find help, the Dis! Hopefully you can give her some ideas and places to start her research.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Since the World Began, the book published for WDW's 25th Anniversary, is one of my favorites for this type of thing. It's a detailed look into how much thought and effort was put into the planning for Disney World. A great, virtually complete, history of the entire Resort.

I'm not sure that this is what you're looking for, but I think it's a good place for her to start. Of course, it's primarily about WDW, and she'll want to investigate more about DisneyLAND, since that was where Walt's vision became our reality.

Good luck to your DD!!:D

Bleh, that sounds so much better than what Im having to write my paper on.

Affirmative Action....

Thanks Fantasmic 303 and Dan Murphy! That is exactly what she needed for websites and it is greatly appreciated!

ChadfromDallas, she has had those yuck papers this semester too! I know because I get to edit all of her papers (I am a teacher).

She still needs some names of books that she could find in a public library. Anybody else with ideas on book names?

Thanks again!

There was a biography of Walt I read a long time ago. Don't remember the name, but it talked about his dream for a park where parents and kids could play together. I know I've seen a biography at the parks since then. Sometimes it seems like the book references are the hardest part now we are all used to the web! A search on Amazon should turn up some book titles.
