Hi,
I could use a little help finding a few choices of condos at Windsor Hills. I have been looking, and I am starting to get discouraged. Maybe we are little pickey, but we know exactly what type of condo we want. It is making it hard because very few owners list what building there condo is in, and rarely provide the views of the actual condo. We have stayed at Windsor Hills before, and know it well, so we KNOW what buildings and views we want.
We are looking for..............2 weeks during mid to late August 2009.
1. Building 7 or 8 (closest to the pool), and views facing the pool or lake.
2. Renting through the owner Directly (no management co.)
3. 3 BR 2 Ba unit.
4. Rates under $100. per night ($75-80 would be better! Cheap !!!) I am finding some with discounts for 14 nights.
5. Pictures of unit and views if possible.
6. Personal Reviews from you guys would be great!!! With Pics!!!

I have found several Townhomes for $75 per night, BUT we dont want a townhome. We dont want or need a splash pool (we rented a 5 br house on Comrow street, and we didnt really use the pool much, we used the main pool more often, and we dont want the two story layout. We want to be close to the main pool, on 1 level. It seems I can find townhomes slightly less $$$ than condos for some reason ??? Any ideas why.

Can you guys help me with some units ??? I know I can find the right unit with some help !! I am trying to stay around $1000. -$1200. for 14 nights, but will go to $1400. if I need too, but no higher than $100. per night. I have found MANY units for $100-$99. a night. Some offer a 10-15% discount for 14 night stays or more, with no cleaning fees.

Thanks in advance for any help...........

I did a general inquiry at windsor hills main website and got lots of replies. Because at the time we were looking at 3 bedrooms I did both townhouses and condos. Most of the replies i received on the condos had management companies whereas a larger number of the townhomes had replies from owners. we did finally select a condo with a management company down the street. While it wasn't really my preference to have a management company the price was right.
Good luck in making your decision. If you were looking for a townhome I could recommend one as that is all we have rented at so far in Windsor Hills. I'm hoping for a great experience this time with the management company. So far so good. Our choice was in building 1 this time.

Thanks for the reply disneyohbear.
I guess we could do a townhouse. I am still not sure why the rates seem to be cheaper for t-houses vs condos ??? Location I guess? The kids may use a splash pool a few times. Do the splash pools also double as a hot-tub? That may be nice. We just DONT like having a bedroom downstairs, away from the "master".
I just did an e-mail inq. at windsorhillsrentdotcom site, and within minutes, I have recieved some replies. I did set-up a seperate e-mail addy, incase it gets out of hand, like some have said. Also, I didnt include my phone #.
So far, I have been getting rates as low as $85. a night for a Townhouse. plus tax, and about $95. a night for a condo. I think I can do better. Some units are claiming a "fireworks view". I remember hearing fireworks when we stayed on Comrow St., But I dont remeber seeing them. Is it possible in a townhome or condo? Is it worth sacrificing the pool/lake view for a fireworks view? I just dont like looking out at a parking lot, or relaxing with a coffee on the lanai while looking at the p-lot.
Why do you prefer building 1. It seems to be the furthest away from the clubhouse. If you had a good stay, I would consider it if the rate was good. Could you recommend it, and send me a link. I may have to go with a managemant co., as most owners of condos and townhomes are not local. At least I have some time to decide!
Thanks for the help!

"Do the splash pools also double as a hot-tub?" No at least not in the one we rented. We could have added heat but since we had a packed vacation at the parks we didn't feel we would use the pool enough for the heat to be a factor in Oct. We ended up using the pool just once and it was warm enough without heat so that was a nice savings for us. We did get some offers that included heat but not many.

I don't remember our townhome claiming a fireworks view and i'm not sure if you could see them or not from ours as we spent the time in the parks. The couple nights we were back earlier I don't remember hearing or seeing them. Our townhome didn't have a view of the parking lot from our lanai as the parking is in front of the townhome and there were no townhomes behind us. Our townhome was off Maneshaw Lane and it was past the clubhouse on the left. I really enjoyed our stay here and would have stayed with Jami again however we have a smaller group going and decided a one level condo would work better for us. Here's the link to that townhome: www.OrlandoResortHomeRentals.com. If you rent from Jami tell her dawn said Hey!!!

"Why do you prefer building 1. It seems to be the furthest away from the clubhouse. If you had a good stay, I would consider it if the rate was good. Could you recommend it, and send me a link." Well I thought building 1 was close to the pool based on a map I've seen but that wasn't our biggest concern. We had a very tight budget to work with choosing this condo allowed us to do our vacation without cutting out park days and dining options so if we have to walk further to the clubhouse at least we are on vacation. This condo rental was the cheapest quote we got for the timeframe we are going that met our requirement of ground level. I hope we have made the right decision and we will find out in June. We are not picky travelers as long as the place is clean we can manage. We have never stayed in the condos at Windsor Hills as our one and only trip to Windsor Hills was in the townhome above. The townhome's only downside for us was the stairs. It was difficult for my parents so this trip with a smaller group going we looked at condos. If you want the link to this condo let me know. Its a 2 bedroom as we didn't really have to have 3 bedrooms this trip with our smaller group.

good luck with your decisions.

I have stayed in this condo www.orlandocondogetaway.com and dealt direct with the owner. She was very easy to deal with and the condo was great!
Top floor overlooking the pool. I would highly recommend it.
I did have to collect my information from the management company, but other than that at the beginning of the holiday, I had no other contact with them. I paid the owner direct, too.
If you have any questions, please PM me - I'd be happy to help!

I recently rented a 3 bedroom(going in may) it is close to the pool and has a view overlooking the lake.Best of all I dealt directly with owner. It is vrbo63785.
