I've been looking online for some cute awning lights. Does anyone have a recommendation?

I've checked camping world and I'm now searching on ebay. I'm looking for a cute set of lights to be strung around our awning.

Any help would be appreciated.

We have some LSU helmets and something else, we were looking on EBAY last night and they had some cute ones, so did Target. Remember, they don't put out much light. We have rope lighting and those big globe lights for around the awning for lighting. For the 4th, we have red white and blue bulbs for them, for halloween, they're getting orange and black bulbs...see a pattern?

We bought some Mickey Mouse awning lights for the RV when we were just there. They are the best. We bought them at Animal Kingdom, I was very surprised to find them there. We were not even looking for them, but just had to buy them when we saw them. They are colorful and really add to the magic when we stay at Disney.

I gave DH the coach lantern ones for his birthday one year. I got them at Walmart in the RV section. They take a regular screw in bulb instead of a christmas light bulb so they give off a lot of light. I guess it all depends on how much light you want to have. They seem to attract bugs too! DH is sick of the so we are looking for new ones too!

I have seen some cute ones at Target. They were fancy. I will definately be looking for the Mickey Mouse ones at Disney! Thank You kimluvswdw!

Oh I was looking everywhere for those a few years ago. I need to find them.

I saw these at Disneyshopping.com and they are an extra 20% off with the coupon code "Appreciate". I liked that they were kind of subtle Mickeys.

Guess I'll have to check Target. Are they in lawn & garden or another section?

I'm not too much into the multi-color ones but I may change my mind if I see something real appealing. Don't need anything too bright. When we stay at Knoebels, our site is right across from the bathroom so we do have some light.

Maybe I'll check around before ordering from Camping World. I really like those globes but I didn't want to pay $7x.xx for a single strand. I might need 2 or 3.

Do you normally put them all around the awning or just across the front. This is our first travel trailer so I'm excited to have it decorated and getting it all organized.

Try this site, CheesyLights.com They have all kinds of different light strings. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :sunny: :sunny:

We have one strand of the globe lights, and it goes all the way across our awning, we have a dimmer for them, b/c they are so bright. We bought the clear ones, and for color we put in different colored bulbs. The strip lights we have fit into a groove and give a much more glowly lit effect. Here in the south where we live the campgrounds are not lit, the only light comes from the camper itself, so we have to have enough light to see. Here is a pic of our camper with the awning out, so y ou can see what it will go across. It's a 31 foot camper, sorry it looks so messy, we were breaking down and I wanted to get a quick picture.

Thanks for the picture. How did you get a dimmer for the globe lights? Do they plug into a dimmer switch?

I'm going to check out target today.

Our one campground has no light what-so-ever except for the laterns we hang out. Knoebels does have light so now I'm not sure which way to go. I do like the globe lights so it would be nice if I can plug them into some sort of dimmer as well.

UPDATE

Thanks everyone for your help.

I went to Target and found one box of 25 small globe lights for 9.99 (their selection was very limited). I probably needed another box but I was out of luck. They give off a nice amount of light, not too bright (40 watt). These would be nice for the dark campground for the front of our awning or to hang around the trees. We camp with a big group of people at this campground so we reserve the overflow section and it's very dark.

I also went to K'mart and found 2 boxes of mini lantern lights on sale for 9.75. These were cute and different. Gave me the camping feel. I had to call 8 other K'marts to find more boxes and this morning I got lucky. They are shipping 3 more boxes to the store near me.

I'm so happy...thanks everyone for your help. I like both sets of lights from Target & K'mart and I couldn't pick one over the other.

We bought two strands of Mickey head lights at the Disney Christmas store at DTD on our trip a couple of weeks ago. They are indoor/outdoor and we will use them at Ft. Wilderness over the 4th of July week end. I also like the paper laterns in the post above, but they look like they might be too subtle. Maybe not. Let me know how they look in real life in the dark.

Mine aren't paper laterns. I got mini globes which give off 40 w light. It's not too bright so I think it will be ok. I did go buy a lamp dimmer switch at Home Depot yesterday. One campground has a lot of light so now we can dim them while camping there. Could also make for some nice mood lighting (hehe).

I would love to see the disney string of lights as well.

We got our paper lanterns today, they are strung on Christmas tree type lights and about the size of a fist, but perfect for us, b/c we alrady have our main lights...
