Need help finding a stuffed Minnie PLEASE READ

This is hands down the best thing I have ever read here.:goodvibes What a heartwarming story. So glad things worked out for you like they did. TFS and I can't wait to see the photos!

I'm so glad that everything worked out for you. I have tears in my eyes after reading about your DD's reunion with her long lost friend.

OK Folks, on Friday as we pulled into the driveway I was a box at the front door. Since I wasn't expecting anything else I knew it must be THE ONE. I had my DD go in through the garage then, when she was occupied, I went out front, grabbed the box, and headed into my bedroom to open it. The first thing I saw was the note exactly as I had asked it to be written. The second thing I saw was Minnie -- the exact Minnie. I of course had to start crying and then realized that my DD was staring at me with a terrifed look on her face as she thought something was terribly wrong. I didn't know what else to do so, keeping Minnie in the box I handed my DD the note. I watched her face as she read it. Her expression went from scared to confused to this look of pure joy. I handed her the box and then we were both crying. She asked me if it was really "My old Minnie" and I told her to believe in the magic of Disney. She shrieked really loud (my ears are still ringing) then proceded to call her DD at work, her babysitter and my Mom. THEN she grabbed Fluffy Minnie and introduced her to Old Minnie as the Minnie that tried really hard to console her during Old Minnie's absence. Next thing I knew there was a party going on in the living room to welcome Old Minnie home. The funny part is that half way through the party my DD came out with Old Minnie and said "Mom, look at this. There is a stain on Old Minnie's head exactly where there was a stain on my Old Minnie's head. I think this really is my Old Minnie. She must of been in one of those Doll Hospitals that fix evertything." and she ran back to finish the party.

Someone else on these boards contacted my to say that they had the correct Minnie and that they would be willing to take pictures of her in various places where they live then forward them to me to help in making the journal of where she was while she was away. I've just got to day how great these boards are. I would never have been able to give my DD such a wonderful gift and since her birthday is just a few days away it was perfect.

Please, if someone knows of a way I can save this thread, short of printing it out as I know I will lose it, can you let me know.

How about saving it in your "favorite" file? Also, definitely print it out. Then find a folder and label it her "Old Minnie is found!", then put that story and folder in her baby book.:)

WOW! I am speechless!
Not only is your daughter blessed to have been chosen for you to be her Mom, but the fact that you take so much time to understand and appreciate your child. I have never cried so hard in all my days on these boards.
I am moved beyond words.
You have got to write Disney and share this amazing story.
I was really worried about being down on 9/11 and after reading this, there's hope that the world can truly be a pleasant place to live.
Blessings to you all! pixiedust:

I agree with the poster above me -- today is really rough (9/11) and I am so glad I found a little magic to cheer me up.

You and your daughter are so lucky to have each other, and you are both extraordinary women (well, woman and little woman)!

As for saving the thread, all I can think is to actually copy an paste it into a document that you can save. Maybe the tech board would have some advice?

You definietley win for one of the most memorable threads for me in recent memory! This so sounds like something my mom would have done for me, and I hope that I become a parent like this one day. I think that sometimes we get so caught up in the "biggest and best" of everything, that we forget that such simple, little acts can literally turn someone's life around. Thank goodness for pixie dust pixiedust:

What a wonderful story. I brought tears to my eyes. It just shows anything is possible if believe in the disney magic and pixie dust. Please post pictures soon!!

I am so happy that my little story has lifted everyones spirits but I hope you all realize what your support and suggestions have meant to me. In the two years Old Minnie was missing I never thought to look on e-bay, nor would I have thought to make a journal of where she had been once we found her. Your imput is just as special as the story itself and I cant express my thanks in strong enough words.

In a little caveat, Old Minnie should be exhausted. Last night she had to help DD with her homework, then she had to sit and watch while my DD wrote some kind of "play" on the computer for her friends to perform at school. Then Old Minnie had to sit by the tub while DD took her bath. Finally she was allowed to go to bed as DD decided (actually I did at 10:00) it was time to sleep. This has been a nightly occurance. At least this time around DD knows that Old Minnie doesn't leave the house. Of course, we are going to WDW next weekend and Old Minnie will have to come so she can "see all the changes that have taken place the last few years". Old Minnie brings back some great memories. Somewhere I have to find the pictures I have of DD holding Old Minnie on her shoulders so she can see the Castle Forecourt Show, or playing hide-n-seek with Real Minnie at AK in the days following 9-11 when the parks were empty (Real Minnie would hide Old Minnie and then my DD would look for her). I'm so happy Old Minnie is back and some new memories can be made.

I promise to post pics soon.

Thank you so much for making my day so much brighter!! Your story and it's happy ending are truly one of a kind. You and your little girl are very lucky to have one another.

Thanks to you and all the posters who brought some magic into our days. Just lovely.

Go to thread tools and email the thread to yourself. You can then save it to your email in a file, or however you would like. Hope this helps. So glad it worked out well for you. I had a similar experience with dd and a stuffed dog that she won out of a crane machine years before. I called the crane machine company, and they still had the dog, only in larger size. They sent to me for $5, I'm sure I spent more trying to win the first one,and as for the size, the dog grew while she was gone:rolleyes:

Subscribing because I want to see "Old" Minnie.

I have one of the original Little People that I got when I was 8 and she still sits in my bedroom to this day and I am 34, so I know how thrilled she must be.

I will be taking photos this weekend -- my DH will bring the camera home and then I'll have his secretary post them on this thread. In the mean time I'm going to e-mail her the pictures of my DD with the original Old Minnie and maybe she can get them posted. Just remember that the pictures I have now are Old Minnie before she started to look worn.

Yep, count me in as one in tears! This is the most wonderful story -- what a loving Mom you are to care so much for your daughter and go as far as you did to replace her Minnie. You are Super Mom! :cheer2:

What a great story! I could not wait to see this minnie, so I searched the seller on ebay and here is the picture of Old Minnie from the listing:

Yep that's her. Isn't she adorable? Although, she doesn't quite look like that anymore. DD has already changed her clothes. She's in a jogging suit today and will be soon in her bathing suit sitting by the sink which will be full of water while my DD goes to the pool with the babysitter (schools out today).

I have full faith she will believe in Disney Magic for years to come!

A funny story about my DH that should keep your hope alive-

There is a town in Western Kansas, Pratt, that has two water towers, and Kansans, ever with a great sense of humor, had painted one tower with the word "HOT" and the other with the word "COLD". When driving through the town as kids with their parents my SIL pointed out the hot water tower and the cold water tower to DH when he was about 8 he took note and thought not much more about it.

One day a few years ago DH (who I swear is not a dumb person) was summoned by me to look at our hot water heater because it was leaking or something. I went to fetch a towel and heard "OOOOOHHHHHHHHH" come from the basement. He was 42 when he figured out that it was not in fact a hot water tower!
