We leave Wednesday for the LA area and have three groups of people meeting after we arrive. Some are flying into LGB and some are flying into LAX. We have almost a full day before we have to head to our meeting and music camp in La Mirada so we thought we would take a drive to Wayfarers Chapel and that area for the scenery.

Looks like the 405 and 110 intersect and our drives from the airports ought to meet up there too. Does that sound right? Anyone know of somewhere decent we could meet coming from both those airports for lunch before heading over to the Palos Verdes area? Or is there somewhere closer to the Chapel we could eat. It has been 8 years since I have been there and I don't remember there being much at all in that area.

As long as I am asking... anything fun in the La Mirada area for dinner? We are four adults and three teenaged boys.

Thanks in advance for any advice! :)

You're right in that precisely AT that intersection there are very few restuarants. However, there are some.

Follow this yahoo map link to see all the restuarants in the vicinity of the 405 and 110 junction.

Using this MAP - if you slide the zoom button more restuarants will appear. Zoom to the street level and virtually every little joint will get listed. Then if you click and drag on the map you will see the map and list of restuarants refresh.

So - aside from the 100s of choices listed - a few suggestions...

Tony Roma's RIght off the 405 freeway next to Ikea - bad neighborhood though - don't get lost getting here.
(310) 329-5723
20720 Avalon Blvd, Carson, CA

Denny's This is right next to the freeway exit (north bound) off the 405.
(310) 532-9389
18620 S Western Ave, Gardena, CA

Curry House Near the 110 North. If you like Japanese Curry - or want something different - try this wonderful little place
(310) 323-7017
1425 W Artesia Blvd Ste 24, Gardena, CA

El Pollo Inka Near the 110 north. Another unique little place I've always enjoied
(310) 516-7378
1425 W Artesia Blvd, Gardena, CA

A genuine HOLE IN THE WALL - and local "Hidden" favorite. Tough to find - unless well mapped.. but WORTH going to.
Bruddah's Hawaiian Foods
(310) 323-9112
1033 W Gardena Blvd, Gardena, CA

Lomeli's Italian Restaurant 24 years ago I used to take my spouse on dates here - a nice hiddden little joint. 5-10 minutes off the freeway.
(310) 323-7993
2223 W Redondo Beach Blvd, Gardena, CA

Alpine Village Right off the freeway - tourist trap but - QUAINT and Convenient
(310) 327-4384
833 Torrance Blvd, Torrance, CA

I've been to most of these places in the past 2 years - some I haven't frequented in a long time but recall as easy to get to or wirth the drive in the vicinity.

I hope it helps!
