We are planning to drive from Columbus Ohio to WDW for the Christmas this year. I am wondering which is a better route I77 or I75? We will leave in the morning and are planning to spend the night at Atlanta. Please tell me the cons and prons for both routes. Thanks,

CuriousGeorge

I've driven both. We live in Cleveland and used to live in Columbus. I-77 is a shorter route. I also think it's a prettier drive with less traffic in most parts and we prefer it to I-75. BUT I think I'd drive I-75 at this time of year b/c you drive through a "mountainous" area in W.Va, Va, and N.C on I-77 and it can be snowy during the winter.

We do both, it depends on what the weather is going to be. We have run into ice in the mountains and that is not full at all. If there is a chance of a winter storm we run down 75 in nice weather we do 77.

I would take I-77 all the way down to Columbia SC and hit I-26 to 95 south. Avoid Atlanta at all costs, terrible traffic...

77 isn't anywhere close to Atlanta...so if you are definitely staying in Atlanta, you'd better stick with 75. We also take 77 from Cleveland.
