Need help deciding which building for CSR?

Hello all! We just booked for Sept. 14-20 at CSR with the 40% off card we received in the mail - yay! I forgot to request a specific building when I called to book, and am wondering if it is too late? If not - what are your suggestions?

It will be myself, DH, and DD (3). We will be coming back to swim/rest in the afternoons, so would like to be close to the main pool, as well as close to a bus stop.

Also, would anyone recommend bringing a lightweight stroller from home for DD, or just rent the ones at the parks?

hi,

best bet would be cabana 9b, if you look at a map of CSR you will see you are right across the lake with bridge access to the Dig site pool and very close to the main bus stop and to the pepper market

We liked the look of the ranchos the best, but they are a hike from the Pepper Market/El Centro. They are close to the main pool but nice and quiet. We've stayed at the Casitas three times and they were our least favorite in terms of look. We recently stayed at the Cabanas and thought they were cute. I'd say Ranchos for the pool, or Cabanas for all around convenience.

It costs about $7/day to rent a stroller at the parks and lots of people on these boards swear by them. But, you have to leave it behind at the park and get another one at a different park if you are park-hopping, and there's no guarantee there'll even be a stroller to rent when you need one. When we booked our 8-day May trip to CSR we decided to buy an inexpensive umbrella stroller as our DD3 has definitely outgrown the travel system we got when she was born. It cost us about $20 - much cheaper than renting - and since it's an obnoxious neon pink it should be relatively easy to locate when we leave it behind to stand in line for rides. Just my 2 cents - hope it helped!

no little kids here - but suggestion for $20 strollers - use a sharpie marker write your last name and state, such as SMITH - NEW JERSEY on the back of the seat. Also tie a $1 store bandana on the handle. Nobody will touch the stroller.

thanks for all of the good suggestions - I called and added a request for cabanas 8a, but think I may call back and also add 9b, hopefully that way I would have a better chance of getting one or the other.

and i think i will invest in the cheap stroller to take. since it sounds like csr is a big place, might be handy to have one there too. i will definitely do the marker/bandana trick

Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge (most convenient location and most preferred).

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building (closest to the pool).

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool (and is the old smoking optional building).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Make your room request as soon as you make your reservation. It’s never too early.
