Going "Home" for the first time in early Feb. 2007. This is an "over-the-hump" trip for me and my boys, since DH will be on deployment. My DMIL, DSIL, DBIL, and DNephew will be joining us. So, we will be a party of 7 (4 adults, 3 kids) plus one infant.

Where should I try to book? SSR is our home, but my DInlaws really want to try BWV or BCV. We have stayed all over the world, so location doesn't really matter to us. But this is only their second trip and they have only stayed at POFQ. I want to make this trip special for them.

So, that being said, we are obviously going to reserve a two-bedroom, but should I try for BWV or BCV? SAB isn't really a draw since we will be travelling early Feb. Which will have more comfortable accomodations?

Thanks for the help.

You may be able to get a dedicated 2 bedroom at BCV. Those have 2 beds in the "studio" part, and it may be nicer to have the extra beds, as opposed to the 1 bed and pull out sofa at the BWV. All of the 2 bedrooms at BWV are "lock offs."

Bobbi :)

I'd recommend a 2 bedroom with 2 queens in the second bedroom. Since BWV only has 1 queen bed and a sleep sofa in the second bedroom, it will have to be BCV. Be sure you call as soon as you can and specifically request the 2 queen option. There aren't all that many and they do go quickly. You may not be able to get one, but it is possible at that time of the year.

If you can live with a sleep sofa in the second bedroom, I'd go with BWV. You'll have Community Hall for the boys, nightly activities on th4e Boardwalk and the option of the Boardwalk view (if you are lucky, but early February isn't a peak time for either BCV or BWV).

Have fun - and prayers for your DH and family. Thanks for all the sacrifices you military families have to make to keep us safe.

Best wishes -

I'm a big believer in spending your first DVC trip in your "home resort". I think that the first trip provides some unique memories, and why not make them in your new home?

I think of our first DVC trip, and it was a special memory that I'm very glad we shared in our new DVC home. I'm sure that a 2BR at SSR would be considered very special by your in-laws.

Having said that, if you are looking at EPCOT area resorts, I can't improve on CarolMN's comments.

All I can say is....amen. ::yes::

I'm going to add my vote for BCV. The kids will LOVE Stormalong Bay and the family can take a nice stroll around to Boardwalk to enjoy the entertainment there. BCV is the resort that I am going to try next year!

Good luck! Pixies to your family and prayers for your DH.

Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and wishes. My DH will leave in mid-November, but we know that we have been very blessed. We will have gone 5 1/2 years btwn 6 month deployments, which is practically unheard of. We have just hit all of our squadrons at the right time. This will be the first time my DS3 will have Dad gone for more that 6 weeks. :guilty:

I have nothing against staying at SSR (our home resort) but I was hoping to save that first trip to SSR when my DH could be with us. I know he is really looking forward to "Going Home" with us. I will definately try to save that trip until next June.

Thanks again! I guess I will try for a dedicated 2 bedroom at BCV.
