Im planning on going to Disney world in late April/early May. I'm looking at the week of April 24th. I'm pretty sure the Easter vacations would be over, and I don't think there's any cheerleading competitions that week either. But I need opinions if this is a good week with lower crowds.

We went the first week of May in 2015 (can't remember the exact dates) and it was a great time to go! I'm sure the week you are looking at is the same.

Reasons why:
  1. Weather was great. Highs in the low-mid 80's. We have been in June when it was ridiculously hot and January when it was too cold to swim so for us, this was perfect weather.
  2. Crowds were manageable. I think you will hear from many that there really isn't a "low crowd" time of year anymore. There were lots of crowds, but the lines for rides were not bad at all. We got FP's for the major things and the rest were all 15 min or less waits.
  3. The Flower and Garden festival in Epcot is amazing! We are doing Food and Wine this year and I have to say, I don't think the menu looks as good! Also Epcot is beautiful at this time of year.
Hope that helps! I would love to go back at this time of year!!

I know that "low crowds" don't exist anymore. I just wanna make sure that it's not a huge amount of people. I checked the hotels for April 24th, and all star movies, and all star sports, didn't even come up, which made me think it was the cheerleaders or something that week.

We love going in late April and early May, but since my daughter started school we've pushed our spring trip back to early June. :( The crowds are very manageable and while not the lowest of the low, we never encountered huge wait times for anything except a few rides during that time of year. The weather is also beautiful: hot but without the high humidity that summertime brings. Regardless of what week you choose, I don't think you can go wrong.

That's still too close to Easter. I would go a week or two later if you can.

How is the weather in early June?
