My DH and I are planning our first trip "home" later next year.
I'm working on setting up a budget for our trip. In the last few years we've gotten the dining plan and loved having it. Made things SO much easier.

That being said, things are going to be a little different this trip.
I recently had gastric bypass surgery and am unable to eat "normal" quantities of food.
My question is this, can I buy the children's dining plan for my self?
I called dining and they were unable to help me.

I thought someone here on The Dis could help me with this question - it's a considerable price difference and I would HATE to have to pay for the adult DP when I won't really be eating much at all!

I don't think you can do that. Also, you'd be stuck with eating the crappy food off the children's menu. I would suggest no dining plan at all, split an appetizer and meal with your husband and pay out of pocket. You'll save a ton, eat whatever you want and not throw a ton away.

As far as planning a budget goes, budget for the cost of 2 adults on the dining plan and you'll have plenty of money saved to pay OOP.

Best wishes for a quick recovery!

No, you won't be able to buy the children's plan, even under those circumstances.

As long as you were not planning on buffet meals (you pay whether you eat or not) paying OOP will probably be very economical!:thumbsup2 You can still make your ressies as you would, and order just an appetizer or kids meal, or eat off his plate. Since you probably are limited to soups and stuff, this should work for you.

Thanks!

You know, as stupid as it sounds I hadn't even remembered that I could pay OOP - haha

I blame that on DH saying "Oh which DP are we getting this time?" haha

I think paying OOP is the way to go on this one :)

Thanks so much!
