I know this is such a basic question but I have searched for threads and posts about it and can't find anything.

My son's best friend is his stuffed Winnie the Pooh that we purchased on his first trip to Disney a year and a half ago. He is in really good shape and I have taken great care to spot clean him as best as I can but he is in need of a real bath. I am terrified to just throw him in the washing machine...what if he is destroyed? Does anyone have any good advice for washing him? My child is watching my every move...I think he's afraid I'll hurt his buddy!

Help!

I would wash him the same way I wash my son's pillow pet :

In the washing machine, gentle cycle, warm wash. I run an extra spin cycle at the end to make sure to get the most water out. And then I hang to dry.

Normally "puppy pillow" is ready to sleep with by the next night.

you could always handwash Pooh and then hang him to dry.

if you really want to wash him in the machine, I'd put him in a pillowcase and wash on delicate or hand wash (if your machine has a handwash cycle). i know on my machine, i can also adjust the spin cycle so that it does it much more gently (set it on hang dry).

good luck!

DD has a "baby's first Pooh" that can, thankfully, be thrown into the washer/dryer.

This. DD's best friend is a stuffed bunny that is now 10 yrs old! I throw it in a pillowcase and it goes through the washer (on warm) and the dryer. Our machines are older, no delicate cycle, etc, and bunny..and all her other stuffies, are still going strong.

Ok, the pillowcase thing works great but my stuffies keep falling out, Ive learned if you tie a knot in the case or tie it with a sock, it stays closed longer. Ive washed my snuggles bear weekly for the past 8 years (allergy issues) and hes still going strong

my DD14 still has her Baby's First Pooh, as well. It was always her favorite, so we are hanging on to it. I have washed him in the washing machine/dryer, using a pillowcase, quite a few times and he is still in pretty good shape!:)

That's easy: Just get a tub of soap and water and clean the Pooh out of him;)pooh:

That's how Mom always cleaned mine, bath in the kitchen sink! Under my watchful eyes, of course!

sorry. yes, tie it in a knot. (i obviously left out that little detail!)

We have a Pooh in our family, whom I've washed on the handwash cycle of my HE machine, and dried on low-he comes out fluffy and clean ;) I think the pillowcase is an excellent idea for additional safety for Pooh!

All of our kids' stuffed animals are sent through the washer. Typically, just as another item in a load of clothes.

I thought that poo was toiety trained? Maybe he should still be wearing pull ups then? Ya know, until he is finally toiety trained. I think it is a good idea. :) Good Luck on your diaper endeavors ... it can be a tough time.

~~ I love you Phil, and you will forever be with me! Forever my very best and most special friend! I love you to no end. ~~
