Hi,

I mentioned some good news in a previous post- my husband finally called his estranged father after 7 years and after talking and emailing we all decided to meet together at WDW in November! (We live in NJ and they live in Utah).

We arrive on a Saturday night and by the time we get to the hotel and wait for grocery delivery and unpack, it will be time for bed.

So we decided to meet Sunday morning for breakfast and I need some ideas on where to meet. We are going to Animal Kingdom that day. Originally my plans were for Breakfastosaurus, but I think that a character breakfast might be an unusual place for all of us to meet. (We haven't seen him in 11 years and he has a new wife and child. He hasn't met our children either).

Any ideas?

Hi! Maybe you should go to a resort for breakfast before the park opens or early morning.
One place I would suggest that is fun is Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge. You can get a "family style meal" without the characters!

You know what.......maybe a character breakfast would be good to sort of break the ice and the kids will be that factor......They will be so excited to see the characters and the excitment.....why not....Donalds has been a favorite of ours and so is Chef Mickey at the Contemporary.
Have a good time and hope all works out for you all......

Yes, I was beginning to think that a character meal would be good. I think we will go with the Donald's.

WCC was a great idea, but we will be going there for dinner later in the week.

Thanks!:goodvibes

If it were me, I would want to do a buffet. That way, if there happen to be any "uncomfortable moments" for anyone, there is always the option to get up and leave the table for a moment. :rolleyes1 I'd say Boma. :upsidedow

I would suggest Cape May. Its a fun breakfast buffet, but not quite as hectic as some of the others. So you would have the best of both worlds, lots of fun to diminish the awkwardness but not so much noise and excitement to make it impossible to have conversation.

But your Breakfastsaurus idea is good for the convenience alone, and its a great choice for food and fun too.

Good luck, my husband had a strained relationship (to almost no relationship) with his dad for several years. Our trips to Disneyland (fil lives near there) helped break the ice and get us back on track! I hope your trip does the same!
