We have just two days for our upcoming trip. Day one is AK/MK and day two is either Epcot or MGM (can't hop this day because Grandma can't handle the extra walking). My kids DS10 and DD7 have been to every park numerous times, but we've never been to Epcot. What would you pick? They love MGM so I am a bit scared to try Epcot, but they may end up loving it also. IT'S SO HARD TO PICK!! I wish we could do it all!! :sad2:

I can already tell you I will be in the minority here, but MGM for my family myself (30), dw (28), sons (10, 1) is our favorite park out of ALL the parks at wdw. While Epcot is a tad below MK for us. All we like in epcot is Soarin, MS, and Test Track. While the world showcase is nice and all, there really isn't much for us to see in them. I know others will tell you you can spend all day in ws alone, we can't. The food and shops are things we can get at home, and the entertainment part while they are good, just doesn't do it for us compared to Lights camera action, tot, rnrc, indiana jones, etc...

I'd go with Epcot. We like MGM but LOVE Epcot. Your kids will love Soarin' and Test Track....

I'll also probably be in the minority, but I'd stick with MGM. Also, I don't know when you're going, but Test Track at Epcot is closed for refurbishment until the middle of February, I think.

I would definitely go with MGM. I have two DDs, ages are the same as your children, 10 and 7. Their FAVORITE park is MGM! They hate Epcot, and so does DH. I, on the other hand, love it. For now, we usually hop there to do Test Track and Illuminations only. (We haven't been there since Soarin opened. I hear that will be another we will have to hit.) I am seriosly hoping that my two DDs will eventually fall in love with Epcot like me. Until then............we just have to hop for a little while. My favorite parks, in order are, MK, MGM, Epcot and AK. My two DDs are MGM, MK, AK, and Epcot.

My favorite park is Epcot. But if you only have one day, I would say go with MGM just because you can do almost everything in that park in one day (if you plan it right). Epcot is great and you can do alot in a day, but to really experience it, I feel that you need about 2 days there. Just my two cents... good luck and have fun! :)

I would go with MGM. I like Epcot but it is very spread out and I have only been with a young child and it has been hard to enjoy the countries in WS.

Does closing time mater? Often MGM closes at 7:00, Epcot always 9:00.

I would do Epcot. Mostly because you haven't done it before, and there is alot to do there. Your kids are at a really good age to appericate WS now too. Also they will love Sorin, MS and TT.

For future referance, going from MGM to Epcot is supper easy. There is a boat that goes to Y&B S&D and Boardwalk.

I wouldn't recomend trying to do both though. Epcot is really big, I always feel we never spend enough time there every trip. :teeth:

However there is a lot of walking to do, so it might be hard on Grandma. Gram might love Epcot though. Is your upcoming trip in May by chance? The flower and garden festivel is great and not to be missed. Just up most grandmas lanes (I know my DD's gram would LOVE it.) :)

I would Def. do MGM...I just think your kids will enoy it more!...and they already love it!...Epcot I love also test track MS and soarin are awesome but i think there is more in MGM to enjoy... Have fun! ;)

I would do MGM too - for a couple of reasons

One I think there is a ton of stuff your kids would enjoy -there is a whole days worth of activities for that age at MGM and secondly since you mentioned hopping is out because of all the walking for Grandma - I frankly find the walking at Epcot to be a bit much as well. Even the pavillions that are close together require a bit of a walk between - uphill for The Land - and around the countries - it can get to be a lot of walking.

While I love both parks, you did say that one member of your party will not be able to handle a lot of walking. This makes your decision easy. Go to MGM because the park is much smaller, with attractions located close to one another. Epcot is wonderful to be sure, but it is very spread out, and one can walk several miles during one day there.

Enjoy.

It all depends on what your family is into. If they like thrill rides, then I'd go for MGM. That's my personal favorite. But if they are more into exploring and learning type stuff, then go for Epcot.

Epcot is also more walking. If your Grandma can't handle walking, then this might not be the perfect park for her.

And like others have said, Epcot also takes about 2 days to fully get the effect of it. MGM is smaller and can usually be done in 1 day.

Have fun either way!!!

Epcot World Showcase is my favorite place. Nice mile or so walk around World.

Lately, our family really loves MGM as well.

Be adventurous and park hop both. See some of the MGM in the AM and take the leisurely boat ride over to Epcot's International entrance which puts you between UK and France and take a lap around the World Showcase.

Added bonus see either Illuminations or Fantasmic--both Fantastic shows.

AS much as I love Epcot, I wold do MGM too. Not much Grandma would like in MGM but the kids will love it if they like exciting rides.

I agree!! But only if walking can be managed! :thumbsup2

I'd do either one of them instead of AK personally. Actually, I'd probably change my itinerary to have AK/MGM on one day, MK the second. EPCOT is too big and too much to see/do on half a day, and MK is the same way, but can't be missed.

I'd do Epcot. I've been down and haven't bothered with MGM, but I wouldn't miss Epcot for anything!
